Hi all

I was just wondering whether anyone could help me with two questions:

Firstly (as I have thrown the bag away) – what is the recommended daily amount of Healthy Hooves for a 14.2 welsh pony (approx. 483kgs)?

Also, as I have no way of currently weighing any hay – how much is approx. 5 kgs (dry weight)? I use haynets and have been told to spread them out throughout the day. The haynets are of standard size and will be double netted.

Thanks

It says 2kg or 4 Stubbs scoops for 400kg 14.3-15.2hh or 2.5kg or 5 scoops for 500kg 15.3-16.2hh

A full haynet is about 4kg but really depends on how much you cram in and the size of the haynet. So maybe 2-3 half full/loosely filled nets would be about 5kg but it is so easy to go over the weight if you are just guessing.

We have the small scoops so will get a stubbs scoop, I was giving her 3 1/2 small scoops twice a day. I'm going to cut it to 3 smaller feeds a day if I can find someone to feed/hay her around lunchtime ish

I'm going to the feed place tonight if I'm back from the hospital in time so will see if they have one of those weighing scales that you hang the nets on.
