Hi!
As part of my job I ride for a few people and I have ridden a few horses for a lady who has since become one of my close friends. She has 3 lovely horses that I have ridden on and off over the winter and there is one that I really clicked with.
He is a 17h exracehorse who is a rather sensitive sort and hadn't really got on with any of the people who had been riding him for her, he looked like a demented giraffe in some pics. The first time I sat on him, we just clicked. I'm not sure what it was, but we instantly got each other and over the winter I have ridden him a bit, not very regularly, sometimes only once a month, but we have made some awesome progress. All her horses sent mine Christmas presents, he sent me beautiful flowers when I was poorly signed "from your adopted child Kings xxx", and birthday flowers, chocolates and a helium balloon too (he has special pony access to the internet apparently )
Well last week his owner said that she thought he was always destined to be mine because of how we just clicked. She said from the first day I rode him that it felt like he was mine and that she just looked after him and loved him. He is a bit too sharp and sensitive for her, and the long and short of it is that he is now here with me and mine.
Im not sure that it has sunk in yet. If I was to write down the attributes in my perfect horse they would be- tall, athletic, sensitive, sharp, have a good head, heart and to be a nice person. Well he's here!
He has settled in brilliantly, apart from thinking he is a stallion and doing a pretty impressive job of convincing all the girls that he is too!
So heres Kings...
These pics are from me riding him before he was mine....
Playing racehorses on the gallops
Im always smiling on him
Him at home with me....
Matcho rug and throwing some shapes!
First lunge (the rein was under the stirrup on the other side)
First sit on at home. I confess I almost blubbed sat on him, like I couldn't believe he was here
And his first at home photo shoot
I love this one...
I just adore him. Loads.
The plan is to get him a bit fitter and then get him out to some BD and see if he jumps!!
I am so lucky to have met such a lovely friend and for all the steps to happen for him to be here with my beautiful girls. I just messaged my friend to ask if she minded me posting this, she said "Of course not as Kings is your pony and he's always been yours really xx" <<mega wub>>
Thanks for reading x
