A decision - Arthritis Mk 2 - PTS

So sorry for your loss, been there with my last mare who had an accident and I can still remember that awful feeling.

[ QUOTE ]
My body clock got me up today to go to the yard, funny thing - no horse to do... I feel like my arm has been chopped off.

That was me! Strangely I also dusted my bike off from the garage and went and entered the London to Brighton Bike Ride the year I lost my girl - I had so much nervous energy and no where to channel it without her.

You did the right and brave thing for your boy and I am sure he is thankful for it whereever he is now.

So sorry for you - my goodness i'm sobbing my heart out after reading all those lovely, but sad, poems.
You did the best thing for him and i'm sure he is glad to be free from pain.

Your post hits close to home as one of my boys has just been diagnosed with arthritis in both hocks and in the sacroiliac joint aswell as suspensory desmitis for which he has just had a neurectomy in both legs.

I almost didn't want him to have it because there is a risk of accelerating the arthritis, but felt he should have this chance. One thing i do know is that, like your very hard decision, unless he recovers well enough to be pain free, he won't go on suffering .
