I walk a poodle, she's nearly 3 years old.
When your walking, if she sees another dog before you see it and get her on the lead, she's off. Bouncing all over dogs wanting them to play. (It rarely happens, I normally see them first)
Or if she gets a scent/sees something, she's off. She killed so many mixie rabbits last year as they're slow.

I normally take just normal, boring dog treats. Which she will come back for IF she feels like it, no distractions.

Today I took cheese. It was fab, everytime I called she rushed back to me. And when I saw 3 spaniels, I put her on lead and for the first time EVER managed to keep her eyes on me!

The only time I lost her, she went down to the canal for a swim and it took a couple minutes to get her back. But thats a huge improvement for her. Lets hope it continues to work :)

I've also had success with cheese, for the exact same problem, but the ultimate is Sainsburys' chicken roll - y'know, that really nasty thinly sliced processed sandwich chicken stuff? Comes in a giant packet for £1, stinks to high heaven and is irresistible to even the most non-food-orientated dog. :D

Lol will try some of that too.
Was considering getting some of those hotdog sausages that come in tins too.
Because I don't want her getting bored of the cheese and not responding, so I'll alternate :D

I keep forgetting to get hotdogs but have nicked some of OH's cocktail sausages before now and they seem to do the trick too. :D If only it wasn't stinky smelly stuff that worked, I'm sick of my pockets being filled with sandwich bags of warm meat!

I never use 'dog' treats or food.
A dog won't work as well for something it knows it is going to get twice a day anyway and as for some of those treats - would YOU eat them?! :p
