Following on from my previous post, my friend had to have her 37yr old pony to sleep tonight. She has also got a shire x who I share and I have got a lesson on him tomorrow which I don't know whether to cancel. He is now on his own with horses on the other side of fence who are our neighbours so he can see but can't touch. He is very sensitive and has never been on his own, however he was fine when I left him about an hour after she'd gone. We brought him over to see her but he got very very distressed and wouldn't go near her so we didn't push him. He can see her covered body over fence until she's collected tomorrow.
I don't know whether to have a lesson to give him something to think about or go with my gut instinct and cancel. Obviously I'll see what he's like tomorrow and also how he reacts when her body goes. Opinions pls xx
