.... It's not very fun when you have a hangover ????
Oh my god I'm so sorry, that must have been the most horrendous surprise ? rest in peace little guyOr when you find him dead on Christmas morning which is what mine was up to. He seriously looked like he had fallen of his perch in the night.
He was a recent arrival, a well bred black copper maran for my black copper maran ladies so it's very frustrating, I have 6 other who are all destined for the pot but no it had to be him.Oh my god I'm so sorry, that must have been the most horrendous surprise ? rest in peace little guy![]()
However much I moan about ours they do have a funny way of working their way into your heart.
Or when you find him dead on Christmas morning which is what mine was up to. He seriously looked like he had fallen of his perch in the night.
We had a cockerel dumped in our hedge nearly a year ago. We had one chicken that raised some guinea fowl for us and we kept her. Once we managed to coax the cockerel out the hedge they got together and have been in separable since. They are so funny and I really love having them around.
oh, today sans hangover I'm back to smiling wryly at Blackberry's morning serenade, rolling over and going back to sleep. He crows in greeting when you come out the back door too, it's so funny. When one is accustomed to a rooster telling the world that it's 4 a.m, you hear them then fall back to sleep. I've never minded it. Chickens are great but we can't have any as not enough room sadly, not like the amount of room my Gran had for her chook yard.
Love the names for the roosters.
I am out training the puppy at 5.30/6am at the moment and it makes all my cockerels crow. Oops! Poor neighbours
My neighbours are farmers one side with their own cockerels and the other side have woofy dogs so we’re ok!I am even worse, I have mine under lights which come on at 5am lol although tbf my neighbours are all a fair way away.
