So off to Oldencraig to do elementaries on Diva and a clients horse - both are part qualified and while not necessarily chasing qualification it would be nice if they did
smile.gif

Mr Worried goes off early to do the client's horse leaving me on my own. So get ready, lorry packed, ready to load, drop the ramp go and get Diva and the heavens dumped on Detling hill. I couldn't see - it was unbelievable and it literally came from nowhere
ooo.gif

We were caught between a rock and a hard place - turn round for the yard or peg it to the lorry. We, or rather Diva, chose the latter and she loaded herslef with me hanging on the end of the rope.

Threw the ramp up and set off, look at the diesel guage -it's empty and I realise we need fuel and fast.

It's raining so hard I can't see out of my wing mirrors and take the best driving option I can - stick it in 5th gear and pray! The A249 was under water as the drains couldn't cope and so I literally sailed into the services driving on fumes!

Get out onto the M25 and Clacketts is really slow, added to which a defunct warning buzzer (from the days when it was a tilting cab) buzzes the whole way to Oldencraig

Arrive at venue to find the judge for the second class hasn't arrived and they are running late.

Mr Worried is still on the client's horse and so I have no option but to get Diva ready for him to do a chageover.

He hops off one and on onto Diva, she warms up OK but as we all know she can be a little tricky and after the disaster at Cobham last week she is definitely pushing her luck!

Does a nice test but spoilt by a reluctant walk-to canter which was so nearly lovely and a break in one canter
mad.gif
which was a bit naughty.

Judge obviously missed the break though
tongue.gif
as no mention and straight 6's and 7's to get 65% and 3rd

We decide that she is a troll and Mr Worried is going to get tough, which to be fair he does, she threw her dummy out the pram, kicked out and caught the gate, got a smack, then bucked, got a smack, did a bunny hop, got another smack, did some lovely passage and got a pat
wink.gif
and then went beautifully
laugh.gif

Second test was so lovely and she got a well deserved 69.7% and was second and second overall.

Diva the bridesmaid striked again
wink.gif

Well done you for coping with the rain and congrats to Mr Worried for the tests.
Your narrative is so lovely and easy to read, you should write a blog....
grin.gif

No - bless her two seconds with 69.7% and 70.6% - always the bridesmaid.
You have to win two qualifiers with 66% or more or one qualifier and two non-qualifiers again with 66% or more.
She won a qualifier with 71.6% and is mentioned in H&H this week

ooh waves I saw Mr Worried one and clients horse and was looking for Diva...however I rode in and did my test in the downpour so changed clothes and headed home...I only got a 4th in the novice and judges comment was "nice horse but not co-operative in the weather today-shame!'...strangely didnt realise till i got off that whites go totally see through when sodden
blush.gif
....hope you have dried out...!

Waves back!! Our times were later so I came on my own and didn't get ther till about 12.30.

PMSL at your white incident!!!

Weather was a shocker and the scores really took a hammering!

4th is great though well done! Our tally for the day was =3rd with himself
laugh.gif
and then a 2nd and a 4th.

Diva is a troll? Ooooh, that's a bit harsh isn't it?
tongue.gif
And anyway, with a name like Diva what do you expect? It's a bit like expecting HumungaHorse to be 15.2....honestly.
mad.gif

Be grateful that your fuel gauge said Empty, mine lied and said 1/4 Full when it was in fact empty.
frown.gif

I'm sure with a bit more of Mr Worried's tough love Diva will soon become the bride.

Anyway, never mind Diva, how's Ronald?

Some of those Trolls had pink hair you know!!! I know, I know... I should have seen the warning signs when they said her name was Diva
crazy.gif

As I was sloshing along the A249 I thought about your post and was paraying I wouldn't have to 'make that call'!!!
tongue.gif

Ron has yet to enter the swan phase
frown.gif
he has sex on the brain is very skinny and very tall - but is entered for Kent
crazy.gif

I remember those trolls, they were scary looking.
crazy.gif

I hope you've got Roadside Recovery, the full works.
wink.gif

I know have a vision of Ronald looking like the equine version of the lead singer of The Cure (don't know his name, I wasn't a huge fan). Kinda geeky but kinda cute. I'll look forward to the photos from Kent and his transformation into Show Pony.

A somewhat trying day it sounds like!

Well done diva for the second, does she need to win to become qualified (sorry I am a BD novice through living on the other side of the water).

Fiona

Ahhh, that is the worst feeling the the world when you are just waiting for it to splutter to its death from lack of fuel
frown.gif

It sounds as though Diva is really coming on hun. I know Mr Worried had to get tough and she kicked out, but it sounds as though she is taking it all much better and reacting in a more positive way!

Fantastic score in the second test, you both must be so pleased with Diva!

She is a true Dressage Diva and she demands Mr Worried's complete attention at all times!!!

Hiya, Mark used to teach me on my old horse (I'm also at wendy neath's yard) so it's always good to hear he's doing well!
laugh.gif

I was more worried about what my dad would say if I had to ring him to rescue me - as, ahem... it wouldn't be the first time
blush.gif

This year was always going to be diffficult for her as she came to terms with being trained and not doing as she wanted - however all said and done I am really pleased with how she is progressing, we still have the odd wobble but these are definitely lessening and the good bits are better and last for longer
