We went out for a hack with another lady from the yard and a young girl on her pony. We kept it mainly to road work as pony been a bit of a handfull for the girl tanking off and not stopping till home. All was going well had a trot down a nice quite lane pony was good as gold pulled up no problm. So there's this track that quite closed in able to trot and canter. So we had a another trot just for a bit. I said to the girl that any problems just shout and I will stop etc. She was behide me then she shoutd as pony triedto come passd me luckly I manged to turn Beau around blocking the pony path!!!! Not so nice for the girl as got hit by a branch!! Pony stopped.
Once all calm down we walked for a bit then set off at a slow trot little pony legs strugged to keep up to Beau's trot eventhough I kept it very steady and he was a good boy!! Little pony was good so came back to walk and I asked if she wanted to canter behide Beau whist he trotted. This time we tried him at the back that wasnt a good idea set off Beau fought a bit as I didnt want him to do his power trot as it is fastd anyway pony took hold and flew passd friend somehow!!?? Don't really know how as track quite narrow etc that why I thought that the best place to give it a go!! I heard her shouting and quickly swing Beau round again and complety blocked him!!! It was a bit eff as I havnt done that with him for ages so could of ended up in a bad way thank god Beau didnt move a inch dispite little pony canter into him!!! Thank god that work otherwise I dread to think what could of happern!!! As that track goes onto another lane then onto a busyish road!!!
The girl ok bless her. She was very brave as she wanted to have a little trot after the last bit wasnt good so we did that pony was good didnt come passed Beau!! Now I rember how scared I was when Beau used to do this with me many years ago. Im so happy that he was a super star and stopped the pony from complety tanking off!!! Rewind the clocks back many year's ago I think we would of had two horse going full pelt heading home!!
Got back to the yard all in one piece gave him loads of treat's and a very big pat!!!
Im glad the girl wanted to trot afterwards so her lose of confdence wasnt knock badly as I rember after what happeren to me I didnt want to come out of walk had to be push to do so. So next I didnt think of the what if's etc...
This has made me so proud of him as he have changed so much eventhough that spilt secord I wasnt sure it would work he proved me very wrong!!
I rode in my jumping saddle first time in nearly 6 months because of it being fitted wrong and old saddler said he will not change shape he's too old too!! Well he has it's had to be wider!!! Our new saddler said he have changed sharpe in such a short peroid of time and is very happy with him!! Felt very stange and my knee startd to hurt!! Grrhh!!
