A FAB surprise for me at the yard tonight....

Well well well, my boy never ceases to amaze me. I drove into the yard tonight, a bit glum, its Monday, its darker and cold, and there he was being lunged by my OH in the school. This may not seem such a big deal BUT we have not tried to lunge him since having him (too much hacking/schooling and other more fun stuff to try) and we were expecting a battle, I certainly never expected my OH to do it for me as a surprise nor for my boy to be PERFECT. The YO was so in awe of him, he listens and obeys each command, he is alert and accurate and he has obviously been taught to face in with each "whoa". I really expected to have to start from scratch in preparation for the cold winter nights (in aid of my cheating with his exercising!!) but it proves he has been broken properly (and kindly) and I am so so proud. What with this, his show yesterday and sponsored ride last week he deserves a medal!! Out comes that darn video camera again and yet more family and friends will dread the invite round to watch it! Thanks for reading this. I do lots with him that make me proud and rarely self indulge but couldnt resist tonight. And I know someone is waiting with baited breath to read this.....

Sorry, am confused - are you referring to horsey or OH here? lol

Only joking! Well done, great stuff! You should be super proud on TWO counts here:
1. Having clever, obedient horsey!
2. Having such an obviously manly & authorative OH!

what is funniest tho is that she normally is the manly one of us, but watching her lunge my boy tonight im sure she has ballerina tendencies showing - daintily prancing round!!

Good on OH though, even better if she's female & can control big, powerful horsey through voice & dainty, prancing feet alone! lol
That magical feminine touch can work wonders sometimes!

Always lovely when your horsey does something magical & unexpected - I remember the first time LBO was used for demonstrating 'lungeing' to some rifding school pupils - even though he was old, stiff & knobbly-kneed, he changed pace, stopped & started like a little circus horse, I was so proud of him & everyone thought he was wonderful!

Well what a lovely surprise not wonder your 'OH' was bursting to tell me but you made me wait!

. Cannot wait to see him one of these dark nights when my old boys are tucked up in bed, whilst your youngster gets on with working!
