no that was suggested but per the vet it was part of a stick. It rang a bell with me as I thought I had similar, horse had been eating branches and next day couldn't eat. Got vet out with a gag to see if there was a bridged stick. Mine just had an infection but this is the first pic I have seen of the real thing.Its the centre part of a bit isn't it? Boy oh boy that must be so painful for the poor horse.![]()

didn't realise this was that common, knew about it in dogs but not horses. See what we have learnt Mrs J at our vast ages.Yes defintely a stick (surprisingly) accordign to the vets, I should have looked at commentsbefore making a total prat of myself...again!![]()
I considered this but actually - it's not fatal and if you know your horse you'd probably pick up that there's an issue very quickly. And it's easily sorted*. So I've decided not to list it....add to list of things to worry about.
