A few thoughts, re my post on Muschamp Impalla

me? not even remotely! I'm just seeing it from a different angle I guess. I've only seen the horse run the odd time on tv, including when it fell so no bias towards it/the owner.
Well that would be interesting to hear, I still don't think it's right that everyone has come out condemning the owners basically for paying someone to ride their horse :S when nobody actually knows what's going on unless anyone cares to enlighten me, it's all speculation and I'm just sharing my thoughts that the riders are probably experienced enough to know, I'm not sure what was achieved by this thread?

Trsitram has actually bought a share in it, so I wouldn't say he was being "paid" to ride him!

Primarily I asked that if you/we/whoever was an owner and had a horse that had a history of being very careless at 4*, as an owner would you keep on striving to find "the"rider for it, or would you take the last 2 riders advice and take it out of eventing? It's widely speculated that Ruth lost confidence in him across country and Andrew, well I'm going to try and find that one out.....

'speculated' is the key word for me

Ruth lost confidence after 7years? And I think only one fall in that time? Seems a bit odd, anybody actually asked her?
perhaps that would have been a better way of putting it rather than naming the horse (and in two threads on him alone)

I have a reliable enough source which has been backed up by other people saying similar things. I dont think anyone here would blame her for loosing confidence after a fall like the one she got of him which like someone said there was no real reason for other than he didnt get his knees up.

I have nothing personally against the horse, I just say it how I see it. There aren't many at that level that can lead the dressage at 4*, and if it was reliable xc i think they'd be fighting over it. maybe they are, i don't know! It is a lovely horse, and it should be someone's pride and joy, but i do think "horses for courses" and if it has made glaring and dangerous mistakes such as it has, with no excuses, it has been saying very loudly that 4* is a bit much, perhaps.
I just see 2 top jockeys not riding it any more, at least one, as far as I know, by choice. Mr Nicholson is v v competitive and I believe that if he thought it had a chance of going and winning Badminton, or Kentucky, or Luhmuhlen with him, he'd have hung onto the ride if at all possible. I thought he bought a share in it after Ruth sold, so keeping the ride should have been feasible. Maybe not. Maybe the syndicate sold it for another reason. Perhaps someone can find out.
if a horse gave me a fall such as he gave Ruth at Badders, when she did NOTHING wrong, had been foot-perfect to that point, didn't slip, had no excuses, I'd never want to sit on it again either. I did see in its results that someone else took it round a OPN after Badders.
