How do you stop a dog from eating everything he sees.poo, sticks, stones, manure, dead things. You name it he eats it. He picks it up and won't drop it. He runs away if I recall until it's swallowed and only then will come to me. If I approach him he runs.

He also is the same with balls etc, throw them and he wont bring them back until I egnore him and he realizes the game is over, but it's getting a little annoying!

I'm also having issues with recall as he won't come back if there's another dog in sight. At home and when there's no dogs his recall is great
Any ideas!?

Flat collar and long line. If he doesn't come back BRING him back and lots of fuss and treats when he does so. Don't LET him get to the smelly thing...I am becoming adept at spotting poo at 20 paces :o if it comes out of the back end of an animal, my pup will eat it :o

I'm using a whistle at the minute which is great for getting attention.

Use two balls. When he has the first one, tease him with the second and he should come back for it.

You basically have to make yourself better than all those other things, you give him food and a ball from your hand etc, source of all good things. Walk him when he is hungry and give him the morning or evening allowance from your pockets on the walk (sorry, I seem to be saying this a lot :o)
