Just out of interest I was wondering how much you thought my old horse would be worth now and how much we paid for him.
He was bought in 1997 as a 12 year old. 15hh bay gelding, brought over from Ireland as a 4 year and had been in the same home since. Had done JRNs coming 2nd and 4th but didn't go to the champs. Had also been to the Pony Club Show Jumping championships and won one of the horsemanship prizes. Anyone could ride him.
So what do you think we bought him for and what would that be in todays money?
Then with us he went to the pony club eventing championships twice. First time qualified at team but came 5th in arena at the area trials. second year 2nd in arena at area trials. (Horse that beat her won at the champs) year after come 4th at the area trials. Was placed in every JRN they did. First year 3rd the 2nd. second 1st then 2nd. Both years going to champs. first year double clear (2nd year he tied up in the d box)
He also qualified for a number of riding club championships and also qualified for the BSPS champs in every working hunter he did. (all this was with my sister, bar 2 WHP wins)
His dressage wasn't brilliant but was an extremely careful jumper. No vices and very easy to do. Sadly he was PTS when he was 16 in 2001
Second question: Had he not died what do you think he would have been worth,
then and now.
