Just for a bit of fun.
I want to know every detail of what your perfect horse would be, if you could go out tomorrow and buy a horse that fitted exactly what you want, what would it be? Your not allowed to say you have the perfect horse already and don't describe a horse you know. Just what you would have.

I would have a chestnut, 16.2hh, mare, either warmblood or a shire x. She would have a blaze down her face, and 4 white socks.
She would be 5 years old, she would be a bit of a challenge but nothing too much, with a cheeky personality. She wouldn't rear/bolt/nap etc, a couple of excited little bucks from time to time. She would need bringing on, but would have the potential to be a dressage star, and capable of jumping whatever height I asked.

Hmm, id want a 15.2hh chunky native. Maybe a bit of cob in there but not too much feather. It would be a gelding, chestnut or bright bay with a blaze (but a nose that doesnt get sunburn!) and two stockings behind. He would be confident and forward going, like galloping about and jumping logs, ditches etc. and would be happy to cross water. Basically be able to do a half decent job in the school and generally be a very safe hack. It would also enjoy hunting. Oh, and come to call (or at all

I got my perfect horse

Sorry just wanted to be the first person to pull out the corny line

But it is true actually, she is what I have always wanted

Ok mine would be a 15’2hh even tri-coloured with black tail, middle weight cob, gelding, full feather out of the knee and long mane, oh and self cleaning. He would be 8, so in his prime and Eventing at Novice level and won County showing. Jumps like a stag, perfectly schooled, forward going but very well behaved.

Not far off Bodey really (apart from the Eventing and being a show cob)!

I already have mine (but I might make her slightly easier to ride on the flat) and Id give her a short white sock and a mane that isnt wavy, even when its pulled really short

I have aways imagined that in a perfect world i would have more than one horse, as I like having lots around me and I don't think one could cope with all the disciplines i am interested in, plus one would get too tired as I'd be riding it all the time, I'd need a whole herd so i could ride 4 or 5 times a day!

I would like one to be a dressage star with lovely paces, who found collection and extension eas, was always engaged, listening to me and willing. I'd have one as a fun horse to take hunting, a nice well built type with lots of stamina, a bold jump and not too crazy! Then I'd have one who was a good allrounder and could do well in eventing (possibly the hunter coulddo this). Then I'd have a nice youngster to back and train myself. Also I'd want one that was good for endurance, a nice wirey little type with lots of stamina and enthusiasm that loved to explore. (I already own two of these, just need the dressage star, the hunter and the baby and I'll be sorted!)

It would be free, come with free tack and rugs and feed for life:

Be around 16hh, bay or chestnut or grey ( covering all areas just ncase) be a quiet hack, or also qualify for any top competions.

Anyone know of such a horse, just pm me

Frank on a helpful day and in a good mood. but perhaps a bit younger so I can have him for longer.

Oh dear that really does sound ridiculously corny!

my perfect horse changes depending on what mood im in.

most of the time its a chestnut gelding or mare with white socks and blaze about 16.2. something ID x or warmblood. good movement and looks.
nothing mental but sparky able to jump 1.30 maybe more. genuine and wanting to please and try for you, but enjoys it.
nothing much really just my old mare in a bigger package

A big chunky chestnut TB, with a white stripe down his face.....ooow I said HE, but actually I could be happy with a mare come to think of it, an ex chaser that I can re-school to jump would be really nice.

Age, would like him to be young so we can spend many years together, I'd be happy doing what ever the horse was naturally good at, but would like an all rounder to do some ODE on.

I like a horse with a personality (in case no one has ever noticed lol) and bit of a challange, because that gives me a lot of pleasure seeing them improving.

One day I will have another Troy, for sh*t bag to bully around

Dapple grey ID gelding, 16.2, 8yrs, good hacking and in traffic, schools nicely, jumping machine, not a plod but not too forward going either, good to handle on the ground and turn out/bring in, doesnt mind being bathed/having his legs washed off. Cheeky chappy personality.
Basically my first horse before he got injured

a 16.3 dun or palomino mare, 6yr old, with tons of scope, bravery, great technique over a fence, good movement and supreme trainability and generosity, and most of all, guaranteed soundness for the rest of its career.
actually, i'll have 3 of them please!
wink.gif

basically, the best bits of all my horses, in a pretty colour!

Well as alot of you broke my rules lol, I feel I must add that Roo is my horse of a lifetime I will never be without her, I just wish she could live forever, but as she's only 15, we *fingers and everything else crossed, touching wood etc etc* still have plenty of years together

I would have my horse but she would be 100% for the farrier instead of 80/90%! Just so I didnt have to be there to hold her!

Id also not have her snatch the reins like she does when shes on an exciting hack/hunting. And id like her to not have seasons (even though they arent that bad! she just wee's alot).

Apart from that she does everything I want plus lots more. Shes a rewarding challenge without being trying or unsafe and is great fun, a trier and always loves life. She is pretty, petite, grey and totally perfect.

A 15.2hh chestnut Arab stallion with four white socks and a blaze. He would be the perfect gentleman, laid back and relaxed. He would be the most amazing endurance horse with incredible stamina and recovery rate, but also like popping the odd jump when we were out and about. He'd have to be at least seven years old for competition reasons. I've wanted an Arab since I read King of the Wind as a six year old, the contact I have had with them through my horsey life has only reinforced my desire. I will get one in the end....

Easy, I'd mix my two horses. The stamp and scope of my big mare and the brain and attitude of my little one. And it would be sound and unbreakable.

Goddy with his perfect technique over a fence, gorgeous movement and temperament and looks, but with the attitude and want to go upto Intermediate eventing

15hh bay gelding with one white sock and a star. Age 8. Welsh sec D. Good to handle, box shoe etc.. forward going ride with nice paces and a good attitude to work generally. Hacks alone or in company. Good in traffic.

16.2hh 7year old, dark dapple grey, WB x TB mare I think something that would I could move right up the levels with in anything and everything, particularly eventing. Sound for life, perfect confo, easy to handle, nice temp and trainable, flashy.

My yearling, i spent forever searching for him and i picked him when he was 3 months old out of 7 foals. I do also believe he picked me. He is an amazing boy, at 1 year of age he willnow domore things without any qusestion than most grown up horses. He is everything i ever dreamed he would be and more. He physically makes me grin every time i see him! He is going to be one hell of a horse.

I found and bought my perfect horse and i love her to bits
now it would be even better if she was sound on all 4 legs at once!! and could actually ride her...
