It has been a while since I posted any pictures of Bailey, and in the past 8 months or so he has really chunked out! I have posted in here at in NL as I'm not sure how many people flit between the two forums.

I appreciate that the photos aren't brilliant; I decided to take some quick pics whilst I could remember and attempted to find the flatest and most level part of the yard for him to stand on, so he may look as though he is standing slightly "uphill" as the slop goes up left to right.

He is in the middle of being backed, and doing brilliantly [we had a month off in between due to an abcess and then more sarcoid treatment on his ear] so in total he is approximately 5 weeks in if you don't take into account the break. He is now walking off the lunge, and responding to his rider's aids and is nice and relaxed about the whole thing. He is lazy to the leg although I would prefer for him to be like this and then work to get him more responsive to my leg aids than being a "touch and they blast off" boy!! He starts hacking out next week, which hopefully won't be too eventful; he has been out round the village and down the crop fields a few times being led by my friend when she is riding her pone.

Anyway, aside from the above, what are people's opinions on him? CC welcome, although perhaps a little gentle [as in not rude - tact when expressing any opinion is always appreciated!].

I would also appreciate people's views on what type of classes he may be able to do. I haven't got anything in mind in particular, I would just be interested to see what he may be eligible for and take him out next year for a bit of experience more than anything else before seriously deciding whether to pursue one avenue or another!

So here he is:-

Thanks! Hot chocolate fudge brownie with white chocolate sauce for all those that assist!! [yes I'm dreaming of my local pubs dessert which I'm not allowed for reasons of "being good"!!!

Very nice, I love duns & he looks & sounds like gentle soul. Best of luck with whatever you choose to do with him :)

What lovely dapples he has! Very pretty. I also love his ears, I could totally munch him all up :D

CC wise, his neck is a tad weak, could do with building that up. I 'think' what makes his neck look longer, is his upright shoulder (my mistake if it is just his markings that make it look that way, as it is hard to tell). He also doesn't have a deep girth/big ribcage, exaggerating thing further.
Once he has some more muscle around his neck and shoulder he will look less 'weedy' in front :) But he is just a baby so meh, who cares, all of the above will come with time and work!

You could do riding club horse on him, perhaps small hack too? Obviously coloured classes if they accept dun in the class where you go :)

I think he looks a good stamp of a horse, and when mature he will be even more handsome than he is now. I would buy him if I went to view him anyway!

Many thanks!

His neck isn't that long; unfortunately I am pretty pants at photography and so manage to hit every angle to make him look awful! His neck is weak but as a young horse just starting out I'm not too worried as you say we can work on it!

Any other CC or opinion? :)
