Well Little mare now has no swelling, very little (if any as I may be paranoid) heat- Woooo I am fed up of cold hosing and plastering both her and myself in Staysound clay! Never did get the vet in the end, although I did speak to them on the phone. Do you think I should do some work with her? Her owner wants me to do gentle walk work- not sure if I should hack her quietly or walk round the arena quietly. bear in mind that she was neer lame- or would you wait, if so for how long?

Personally, I would want to leave it a couple of days after becoming sound and then walk in hand for a couple of days, then perhaps trot on the lunge for a couple of days - if still sound I would then start riding. This was the advice given to me by my vet after a short period of undiagnosed lameness earlier this year.

Perhaps it is better to go on the side of caution - walk her out in hand for a couple and if there is no return of the swelling start riding her in gently.
