My sharer had her kids out to see the ponies today and had them on Loki for a little wander up the path and back, apparently they had a great old time of it and her 5yo gave him a huge hug from the ground after they were finished :)

She hadn't put the stirrups on the bareback saddle and so I decided to just give it a shot without stirrups for my hack

It's been a while but I actually did not bad, I didn't fall off at least ;) Had a few trots and a couple of canters and it all went pretty well so we popped our favourite log towards the end :D Awesome fun! I haven't done no stirrup jumping since I was a teenager but I stayed on! :D

It was another lovely hack today all round the woods - really really wish I had a camera phone because the scenery and views are fantastic! - and ended up wading through bracken as high as Loki's withers at one point without picking up ticks which must be a miracle! ;)

The only downer on my day has been that my lovely sharer has handed in her notice to quit the share :( Between looking after her three young children and her ill grandmother she just doesn't feel like she has the time, she hasn't ridden for a couple of weeks because she's been rushed off her feet :(

It's a bit sad because I really liked her as a person, she was an excellent sharer, she offered to do weekdays which is what ideally I wanted and she got on great with Loki :( So I've taken to facebook to re-advertise him again, wish me luck!
