So last time i posted i was really sad as i had to walk away from a lovely gelding that was being sold through a dodgy dealer - i cant thank those who got in touch about said dealer and the vets who were in cahoots for keeping me on the right path and encouraging me to walk away. it was definitely the right thing..

But clouds and silver linings.. i had spotted this guy at a much more repurable dealers and called about him, as it turns out, it wasnt a "deal" horse, but the dealers daughters personal horse and he sounded really good, and from what ive read on here the dealers is worth the trip..

Horse was exactly as described - hes not the finished product by any means, and he has a few quirks ( i do like them a little quirky though!! ) but he came home on thursday and despite a couple of teething issues in regards to the saddle i have decided he is definitely staying.

So this is Zoro, hes 7 and hes Heartbreaker/Concorde lines..Would love to know what you think good or bad - do we look a good match?

He looks lovely, super markings! Is he KWPN or BWP registered, I have been peering at the photos trying to work out if he is branded :)

You look great on him so don't worry :)

KWPN :D and yes i rather like his markings too - i normally dont like bays that much bt the 4 white socks were just too cute!! He has nice paces too which comes as a bonus and has some BD points, but he really seems to perk up once the poles come out, and i want to concentrate my grey on dressage.

thanks misst - as hard as it was i dont think he would have passed a "real" vetting anyway - and theres a real difference in quality between that one and this lovely boy - i was very lucky to find him i think!! This one flew through the vetting so was money well spent i feel :D

I didn't see the other thread but well worth the wait, what a lovely horse :D I wish you both well, you look lovely together, You look a little tight: shoulders to neck, but other than that you both look like you are loving having fun together and doing well :D anyway, who am I to talk... I have so many riding 'issues' I get the horse to move but I look awful!! :D:D you look good and boy can that horse move :D:D Congratulations :D

rhino - too true!!! i feel bad for Zoro now - yes a very happy beginning i hope!

Those pics are the 3rd time i rode him and the 2nd day at his new home - i am tight because i was still a little nervous and because of saddle issues he wasnt comfy and was quite strong at times! Hes now sharing an Albion with my grey and was much more relaxed through his back and his neck/head today. Hopefully will have saddle fitter this week, then teeth man/vet ( the vetting turned up a blind wolf tooth ) and an osteo for good measure.

Hes a sensitive little chap and he has to take time to trust me, but we are getting better every day i think! Cant wait till we can get out and compete though!

That makes complete sense :D I think he is gorgeous, you are very very lucky, sensitive are the best, if Ebony doesn't like a saddle, I end up on the floor  it hurts (hasn't happened for ages) but I wouldn't change it, she tells me she isn't happy, I know there is something to fix and I find out what it is... her message is loud and clear. Sensitive horses are the best you can get, they are sharp, fast learners and fantastic to ride. Glad you found this chap, he looks a beauty :D

He's lovely, congrats! Looking forward to more photos and reports :)

Couldn't help but notice that his wee thin tail is very cute looking as well!

oh yeah his tail is hideously pathetic! he should be an appaloosa with a tail like his :D but i dont mind!!! it all adds to his cuteness factor, and i shant mention it to his face anyway and there are always extensions ha ha!

yep thats pretty much what happened! poor chap, im glad he was so sensitive about it though and he let me know pretty much straightaway! i was quite concerned at first as i knew it was out of character for a horse like him and we managed to get a couple of shots on the camera which indicated he was in pain - so swapped the saddle and hey presto - different horse!

hes still a bugger to get on.. but we can work on that!

My god, if you knew what a sharp bugger ebs was... all the falls, the nutty moments, the stops at a gallop! Now she is the best most talented horse I have ever had the privilege to ride. Wit a horse with an attitude and looks like that, the sky is the limit for you :D

Sounds exactly like my grey who loved to make me jump the jumps first - over his head of course :) then there was his dancing in traffic moments and the hedge eating goblins incident. And of of course all the times the very act of a judge ringing a bell meant he would shoot sideways across the school..

some might say i have had practice :) But Zoro is completely different to my grey i think.. he seems more intelligent and more up forward thinking than my grey - so fingers crossed!!! and if in doubt - superglue!!!
