well thanks to some advice from the lovley nikkimariet on here I have been trying some new tricks to get my boy to take the contact down a bit more as in the past he would tolerate it but not find it if that makes sence? So I think we are making good progress so I thought I would share a few pics :D I know we both still have a long way to go and I have several areas that need work on my position (cardigan makes me look even more hunch backed :o) so any helpful suggestions appreciated :)

Just congratulating him on the sucessful break check ;)

then we had a bit of fun and went for a bit of a play as the breaks were so efficient ;)

and even braved a jump in the snaffle but someone decided to take a stride out between the logs like so  but not bad for the boy who got close to every thing at one point

he is really beautiful :) well done on finding the new breaking lol :D

Although how do you manage to to get him working in amongst all that lush grass you have lol
there would not be a chance I could've done that with my old lad lol

thanks again every one :D
We have been working in a gag with 2 reins and have gradually reduced the use of the bottom rein. So far it seems to be working, he used to be in his snaffle for everything but then he got fit and could keep going so needed a little reminder occasionally.

Ha he did have a snack once when I went to look at the photos but he isnt that food orientated which is suprising considering he is a fat pony and he definatly cant be persuaded to do things for food
