I haven't been on for a while due to the forum not loading properly so I'm sorry, but its with a broken heart that I write this, this afternoon I had to make the decision of putting my 31 year old Arab cross (Legend) to sleep, he had suffered another bout of tying up and about 10 minutes after the vet had left he collapsed, me and my sister tried our hardest to get him back on his feet but he'd given up, I really don't know what to do with my self right now, but he went peacefully, although I can't come to terms with his passing, the worst part is my Shetland is now on his own.

Sorry if there is any spelling mistakes but I really can't function. I just wanted to get this out. thank you to anyone who listened.

Am so very sorry. Sending huge hugs to you both. RIP Legend.

Take comfort that you did the right thing and I hope that you have loads of happy memories of your time together. X

I am so sorry.

He had obviously had a good life with you, if you got him to 31. And you made the end as quick and easy for him as you could, which is all that any of us can do and surely just what any horse would ask.
The Shetland will help you come to terms with what has happened, as you will help him.

RIP Legend.

So sorry to hear this, but you obviously loved and cared for him to have reached the age he did. You did what it sounds like he was asking you to do. Remember the good times. x

So very sorry - it is so hard especially when you've had them so long. He was a great age and that is testament to the love and care you gave him. Take care of yourself x

Oh my dear, I'm so very, very sorry. Losing a loved one (be they animal or human) is so hard, even more so if unexpected. How brave you were. It will, eventually, slowly get easier. Try to console yourself that he went in a safe and familiar place, with faces he knew and loved, not in some awful place, where no animal should be.

Many hugs and strength, look after yourself. x

Rest in peace Legend xx

Sorry not sure what to say other than thinking of you and so sorry for your loss. I hope you have some comfort in your memories of the good times together. Xx

So sorry. That was a great age and I'm sure he'll always have a huge part in your heart. Take care of yourself and don't put any pressure to "get over it" quickly. No one knows how long it takes for the horrible rawness of loss to subside, but take comfort from the fact he was much loved and cared for.

So sorry RIP Legand

When u r ready a charity may be able to provide a companion, that way you can send companion back if circumstances change short or long term.
