Thinking of changing my insurance policy for madam and also curious on how much you think she is worth .

Just a little background ... She is a rising 4 year old ( 4 in march ) ISH by Rachelle Comet ( full green passport ) Shown successfully as a foal at dublin horse show ( 6th ) out of a very large class that year . Also placed at balmoral as a foal, yearling and 2 year old .
Placed at other county level shows inhand .

Broken and riding and moves very well, a great trainable attitude, Very laid back and easy mare .
Had her first outting at a training show in december and got her first double clear, Showing scope over fences .
Bred to event/show .

Pics of the big eared donks .....

very nice for a 4yr old, not very good with valuations at all :/ but i would hazard a guess at about £6k/£7k not sure if this iss to generous or not.. im rubbish at this .. but ido like her

Stunning. She has a tb head and a warmbloods neck! This is a guess but I would say £6,000. I love the bridle in the first pic. I think you should give her to me

Im afraid while shed be worth £6000 ish over here, unless you manage to sell by word of mouth or she has far more showjumping potential than you know youd really be looking at 3k-3.5k euro in ireland.

have a look at irish ads and you'll see a fair few similar to her selling for about that(many of those advertised at 4000ish have sold for far below that). You are up North though so my hange things a bit but Ive seen v nice horses in the North recently sold for less than they would command in the Republic (due to distance/location i presume).

My friend has a horse for sale over here 4yrs schooling nicely out of ireland and very well bred huge jump and absolutely beautiful paces. Shes up for £2500, wouldnt know where the £6k would come from for yours sorry

Thanks taffster

Well I bought her for £2000 . So I would have liked to have thought she was worth more than £2500 now

.

I'm not saying she is a 6k horse . But if I was to put her in the paper tomorrow , She would be going in for roughly 4k .

Just out of curiosty who is your friends horse by ?

Perhaps shes asking too cheaply a price

Can't be of much help on price, especially in current climate - she is nice and still looks to me lke there's some maturing in her yet.
With regard to insurance my experience has been that the companies will only insure for what you paid for the horse then will add 1k to the value after ned is broken. They will then increase price by x amount per year if the horse has good competition results. The only way round this as far as I am aware is to get horse valued by a vet.

I'm not speaking for all companies but this is what I have experienced with youngsters insured with Petplan.

Most of the insurance companies do the same tbh. I am with Carriage House Ins who have been £100 cheaper than petplan & they are horsey. If you increase the value you have to be able to justify it ie with big competition wins. Also if it goes over 3K they may ask for a full 5 stage vetting to be done
