Me and my friend were recently given a 16'1" Dutch warmblood (good breeding on this side, Orlando I think) X highland (indeed it is an odd mix!), 14yr old to bring back into work and sell on. Her history is that before she came to our yard she gained 5BD points, and £500+ BSJA winnings. She was then sold to our yard under the description of 'too marish and can't go in a field with other horses' this however was quickly sorted. She was then in the riding school on our yard for about a year as a school mistress and then put on loan to a girl who more or less ruined her in a pelham and so she ended up back with us. Should also add whilst with the girl she had bi-lateral suspensorys done. My friend has spent the last three months reschooling her on the flat-she is now doing leg yeilds (walk and trot), pirouettes in walk and generally working quite nicely, but from the seat rather than the hands for obvious reasons, and as such she is definitely not a novice ride. Over the past week I have jumped he a couple of times and she is very eager and still has great scope and good technique over the jumps, and would make IMO a great hunter. There is however still a lot of work to be done and she is definatly a 'project horse' So how much?

Here are some pics, not sure which to use for the ad.

This is the best one of her jumping, but it needs photoshopping (help appreciated!)

lovely mare, i agree with you about the breeding, highland x warmblood, very odd. I had one, out of Yashin x highland mare - she was a big bruiser.

personally id see if you cant get some more pics of her jumping. I wouldnt use any of them for an ad.
no. 4 is nice, dont like the last one, looks like the bungie is a bit tight?

price wise i havent got a clue, maybe £3000?

No good at price etc but think you need to go out and take some better pics of jumping, side on in trot with no gadgets and one stood side on with no faff in the background, ie grooming kit.

Those pics won't do her any justice selling.

Ok Thanks, I'm going to see if I can get some more pics, these were kind of just for a general idea I guess. I'll get rid of the last one! That's what I was thinking, but a couple of people on fb liked it, not sure why! lol I was thinking 2k-3k...

Will do these were just some quick ones before I go to uni incase they want to advertise her before I'm back, but I think it'll still be a while before they do! The idea was that she was sold at the beginning of september...things don't move quickly on our yard!

What do people think of her generally though? As an all rounder/project horse? She's very loving and trys and trys, but she just needs someone competent and patient! The kind of buyer that's hard to find just before winter!

Definitely not the last one, no offence but I would never go see a horse with its head pulled in so tight because of a gadget

Having said that, he looks really nice in the 4th picture so maybe you can use that?

would she pass a vet? age? looks quite a nice sort tho, but as you point out does have issues and the market is not too good, let alone time of year? good luck

its a not a good time of year to sell- so keeping mine till spring- hoping the fields will hold out :S anyway- with those pics I dont think you would get much interest even though she sounds nice.
