I have a thorowgood maxam saddle (i think, could be wrong!) with fish inserts. It doesn't fit my horse so I want to sell it to get some money for a new one but, I have no idea how much to sell it for, does anyone have any ideas on how much it would be worth? Its in good condition, hardly been used. Also, how do I find a courier (?) to deliver it and how much postage and packaging would it be? If anyone can help i'd be very grateful. ETS- please dont remove this TFC, I promise it's not advertising, I need some advice as im completley clueless about all this! :)

No idea personally, but I'm sure if you phoned around the local saddlers they could give you an idea of how much second hand Thorowgoods are selling for.

The post office should be able to handle the parcel. Just get a good strong cardboard box, lots and lots of polystyrene chips and a roll of brown packaging tape and you should be good to go. They should be able to advise you on price, based on weight.

Simples! :)

Look on ebay and watch similar ones for a few days to get an idea of what they're fetching. I posted mine with parcel force, in huge bos and lots of bubbel wrap/newspapers.Don;t forget to factor cost of bubble wrap into postage though.

try ebay possibly not the best time to be selling it right now but i have sold a few maxams on ebay and got a decent price for them, you tend to get anywhere between 50-100 for a second hand one,

you should be able to send it via the post office

is there any tack shops in your local area that sell saddles? if so you may be able to get a part exchange on it. if you ring them or go in to there shop and find a saddle you like and they accept a px on yours then you can cut out all the agro of advertising and posting ext ext. i have done this a few times and it is really good if you have a good condition saddle. depending on what make it is you could get an exchange value of anything from £50 to £400.

post office would be your best bet as for sending it to a buyer. you would need to weigh your saddle and then they will tell you how much postage will cost or you can weigh it your self and go on there website to find out how much it would cost. you would probs need to send it signed recorded and it is up to you if you want to send it first or second class. but make sure if you are paid by cheque NOT to send before the cheque has cleared and DONT give anyone you bank detail so they can pay into your bank.

preloved is free to advertise on and you can attach a pic of it. so is free ads and, the horse exchange.

i hope i have helped a little x
