A How Much Please

I might be buying a new horse on saturday

so Billy may need to be sold. I have gone scarily quickly from 1 horse to potentially 3 and I don't want 3.

I bought Billy about 3 weeks ago with the intention of keeping him for the summer and then hopefully Dolly would be sound and he would be sold. I am finally accepting the fact that Dolly is permanently crippled and out of the blue a more suitable Dolly replacement has appeared. The problem with Billy is that he is too small for me and the new one is 16.1 so a far better size.

Billy is 15/15.1, 4YO, Bay, Gelding, unknown breeding. He is green but does walk, trot and canter. Hacks out alone or in company - doesn't nap. He's barefoot and very clever I think he would enjoy parelli. He moves nice. I wouldn't want to sell him to a complete novice as he does need reassurance sometimes as he can be a bit spooky - we have a very scary skip at the end of our road which he does have to have a look at.

So how much?

None taken - he's not a £4k horse as he is - a perfect project horse for someone.

im basing it on stuff on my yard that i have seen!!

a 4yr old that is not a showstopper advertised at 4k and he has has 5 viewings with a second viewing this week.

i know that is quite high - just proves that different areas vary so much.

But then again we have quite wealthy people in our area.

if you had him up for 2.5k he would be gone tomorrow down here!

ets - just looked at your location and meant 'up' here!!.

I should keep him for a bit longer and do a few unaffiliated dressage and showjumping, you should easily get 3.5k then i should think, otherwise around the £1,500 mark as he is small with unknown breeding.

I know I should but I haven't got time. I work full time and I can only really ride 1 horse. My lorry is getting MOT'd in 2 weeks and if I have still got him we are going dressaging.
