A 'how much' post I'm afraid!

I have to sell Josh... so I wondered how much I should ask for him?

He is a 16.2hh Selle Francais bay gelding, 11 years old, 4 BE points. He would make a fantastic JRN or eventing schoolmaster as he is really easy on all 3 phases (snaffle mouth XC); he is a perfect gentleman and easy to do in almost every way. He hacks alone or in company, good to load, travel, shoe, with vet. He has hunted last season, wouldn't stand still at the meet but an absolute gentleman when they got going (not silly or strong).

He would come with all tack and rugs (1 year old Albion K2 GP saddle, Rhino H/W and M/W rugs both less than a year old etc etc). He has never been sick or sorry in the 2 years I have known him.

He does crib occasionally at meal times, and needs sedating by the vet to be clipped (he is genuinely frightened of clippers).

Any views please? Can't think of anything else to say about him! Thanks

With all his tack i should think between 4.5 and 5.5k due to the fact he cribs...

About £4-£4.5k, he sounds lovely, if I had the money I'd definitely be interested!

Hmmmm I'd say you could get 7k. SFs are very 'fashionable.' I think you would probs struggle do sell him as a 'potential JRN schoolmaster'... these rich JRN types, if were looking to buy an 11 year old for JRNs, would want to have one thats been round Weston a couple of times.

I think more around the 10k mark myself and wouldnt worry about the crib biting - you just need a metal stable door!

and as clipping is only max 3 times in the winter it wouldnt pose much of a prob in my opinion!

Do you have a link to his record. Sinc he has 4 BE points I assume that means 4 novice clears? So I would have thougth 6-8K even with cribbing particularly as an easy ride, at least.

I blotted his XC copy book last season because unfortunately I am a rubbish rider

- but god he was fun to go XC on despite my appalling riding
