Ok this is a bit of an odd one but i want to ask for honest opinions. This post is about my ponies that are horridly caught up in my divorce that my ex currently has. (long story).

Pony 1
approx 14 hands dun gelding exact age unknown but mid to late teens according to dentist. good to shoe, clip but not great at loading (was ok untiol ex started trying to load in a trailer so i may be able to rectify it) and not good to hack (my daughter copes with him but a novice wouldn't).

Pony 2
approx 13.2 coloured. 9yrs. has won childs pony/placed in coloured but that was over 2 years ago. Not the best to shoe but has been clipped every year with no problems. Good to hack. Won't load in a trailer very easily.

Now the worst bit. Both don't look in that great a condition, don't know when they were last wormed or vaccinated.

Ex wants to start advertising at £1800 each with tack and rugs. I don't want to be involved unless it is me getting them back as i don't class either as child's ponies.

HELP GUYS

Thanks guys. IMO £1800 is too pricey as well. He has already turned down an offer of £1500 for one of them and i doubt very much if anyone will offer anymore when they come and try them - and thats if anyone will come and try them!!!

I'm at the end of my tether with all this. The best thing would be for me to buy his half but i've got nowhere to put them. The livery yard i am on is full and i've got 2 horses there as it is. I doubt either would stay put on grass livery as they are used to being in bigish paddocks with mains electric fencing and high hedges. The only yards offering grass livery do small paddocks. I'm shaking and winding myself up so much over this.

Breath! It will be ok. Both ponies have good reputations and the first is a fab little jumper - this situtation can be turned round with some careful detailed planning.

My idea is - in the dead of night - stealing them ,then painting them both pink - because that is not a conspicquous colour and turning them out with the school ponies!

Seriously though. I will help in any way I can - we can get the coloured beast doing lateral work again. He picked up so quickly when he was broken. Could you get someone to do a independent valuation (like VP or is it now VL again?? or TL) give it to the ex, see if you can buy his half. I'll get my thinking cap on again as too where they could go.

I have living on this poxy island - if only we were on the mainland then finding livery wouldn't be such a problem. Really i can't stop shaking.

PS. Pink doesn't suit either of them!!!
