Hi

My sister and I bought Tilla 2 years ago as an unbroken 3 yr old, she was professionally broken at 3 1/2 and has since done all PC activities and a bit of everything. She is Full up 14.2 with little withers so she is a BIG 14.2, she was 5 this time and as you can see she is tricoloured and attractivly marked. She is good to clip, shoe, in traffic and an angel to load and take anywhere and will stand tied up inside or outside the lorry all day with a haynet. She is snaffled mouht and hacks alone or in company. She has a fantastic jump very careful and correct and our SJ instructor thinks she will go far with a good junior rider, all the various instructors at PC have saif that they think she is tallented and will so far, so how much?????

In this first picture she was just broken so still 3

Oh she is stunning! Oh my Bodey (the horse below) would love her.
We sold a coloured back at the end of last year who was similar but a bit heavier and we got £3700 for him. I thought that was a fair price. So around the £3500 to £4000 mark I would say. I'm no expert though.

I was thinking £4,000 - £4,500 once she has done a week of PC camp and a British novice on a ticket, however our instructor and an instructor that deals in ponies who taught her at a PC rally said not to sell her for less than £7,000! this seems a little steep so though i would see what you guys thought! the instructor said she sold a very sim bay mare for £6,500 which didnt show as much Talent as tils but even still I though £7,000 seemed alot!???

Depends really on how talented she actually is.

If you can get a few DCs at BN and Disc, and if she has scope to go further, I would say £6000 would be a fair price, and you could get more with the right person.

As she is now, I would say around £3500/£4000 - how good is her flatwork?

we were planning to get a DC on a ticket or even in a senior British novice as my sister and I are too old to do juniors, would we be vetter off finding a junior rider who would compete her a couple of times for us?

Yeah I see what you are saying, from what she has done so far she has show great ability for SJ, she comes into the fence balanced and shortens herself if nessecarry she has a very carefull correct technique and she even does volentary flying changes on the corners if she is on the wrong lead! She jumped a BN junior height class on sunday (it was unaffiliated but bang up to height) and went double clear and came 5th. she is jumping 1m in lessons and def has the scope to go further.

Her flat work is pretty good she works in an outline and has great active straight paces and is very balanced for a 5 yr old, she sould have potential as a WH pony also. will get some photos of her being ridden!

We will only sell her to a PC competition home and are prepared to wait for the right people!

I think she looks lovely. Price wise - its difficult to say because horses/ponies are worth whatever someone is prepared to pay, but I would say about £3500 atm. If she had a BSJA record you could get £6K - £7K. You would need to get a junior rider for her though as on a ticket wouldnt count. Hope this helps.

We only bought her to sell on, we dont really want to sell her, but we have to, we have 5 horses and only 4 stables for the winter, our mare had a foal in April and we have decided to keep him and sell her! Poor Tilla!

She's gorgeous!! I would say from what I've seen around that £4000 is about right, but you could get more if she has a proven competition record. She's very eye catching as well, so that can only go in her favour. Good luck with the sale, hope she gets a great home!

thank you, its a shame one of them has to be sold but sadly we dont have room for them all! Tilla is a toughie and we will only sell her to a kind knowledgable home!

thank you!

We have plently of room for her in the summer (11 acres) but we move to winter grazing and only 4 stables for the winter, our mare will be away for a month when they first move back to winter yard to wean the foal so Tilla doesnt need to be sold until mid november but we were planning on selling her after PC camp on the 13th.

What would you all advise - try selling her after camp as planned or do more competition wise and get her a decent record before selling her?
