Thinking of selling Sandy as planning on doing some travelling this winter and can't afford to keep him. Just wondered what sort of price i should ask for him? Sad times

Thanks in advance

16.2 8 year old IDxTB by Carrabawn View (Mountain Miew)

Came over from Ireland last October, bought unseen by previous owner as a hunter and has hunted in Cornwall all winter inc going up to the Beaufort. Sold to me in March as small male rider found he was too good just to be a hunter.
Won £200 ish BSJA been jumping 1.20's in Ireland and 1.10s with me.

Currently competing PN, 10th at Bickenhall. Fantastic ride XC, will easily go Novice and scope for Intermediate next year.
Very clever and quick for a big horse, really has looked after me when i've been a useless mum and dumped him in it!

Dressage was pretty much non existant when i got him and he has improved so much, he is a light responsive ride and really tries to please. Currently scoring 40's in BE100 and BE100 plus. He could easily put in a smashing test but struggles as he gets tense (probably my fault) nothing some more training won't sort out and a few dressage comps in winter!

Absolute perfect gentleman to have around, lovely kind nature with lots of character, never a fuss, travels by himself or with others, trailer/lorry. great to hack. Doesn't buck or rear. Completely 100% in everyway. Not a big ride, my 5ft 2 friend found him easy.

Ah Ive no idea of price, but he sounds really nice. And hes by Carrabawn view who often throws good jumpers.
I have had a look at his SJI record (if his dam is by Dock Leaf?) and would think hes a decent 1m10 horse, but not established at 1m20, but obviously not jumped in ireland since a 5yo. And you say hes hunted well too?
From what you say Im sure his dressage can come on a lot as you have only had him about 6mths. Would think it would be £8k+ if marketed as a showjumper/hunter with "potential" for eventing.

Sorry, not much help re price as not really up on the market. Lovely horse though, if I had cash for a second I would be very interested! Hope he gets a good home.

Agree around the 8k mark. Maybe advertise for 9k. He sounds like a really good horse! Shame I cant afford another!

Hi looked at your BE results and I think £8k is fair, maybe £7500 depending on his flatwork outside of competition, he looks compact in your photos and like he enjoys his job.

Hi
let me know if you do think of selling him as I have a half brother to him that I have retired and have been looking for another gelding by carrabawn view!!! thanks
