Chestnut Mare
15.2
14 years old
Good with farrier
Doesn't load or travel well.
Not novice ride - needs a firm confident rider
Currently out of work, needs bringing back
Unsocialised with other horses as lived alone for a long time
Sale includes tack.

How much would you expect to pay?

personally wouldn't touch, plus in current climate you'd be lucky to shift it on but if you have to pin me down to a price I'd say £200 to £500? only, sorry. Financially you maybe better off selling the tack separately?????

I think you would get about £300 for meat money and thats probably the best bet!
I've got an aquaintance selling a confirmed continual rearer, ex racehorse, ugly and unpleasant for £3500 so there are plenty of optimists out there!

She isn't mine BTW!

I don't know anything about what she did previously, ad doesn't state - if she had done anything you would put it in the ad surely?

Just wonder at people's expectations of the price their horses will reach. I know of another, a 17 year old 17hh with intermitant lameness and truly apauling tack. Has only ever been a hack/low level shows when younger. Yours for £2000 !!!

That's awful (of people saying what they are)

I used to have a horse just like her, and she was definately worth more than £200, especially the 'bargepole' comments! She belonged to a friend who gave her to me when she was unwell, and I gave her back when I left for uni, she was an absolute cracker of a mare, but thats all she was, a mare.

Horses aren't machines, they all have their quirks and you just learn how to deal with those quirks. She sounds lovely, if she's anything like my old mare, I'd pay £1500 or more if she had good confo and could breed.

Doesn't hold out much hope for this one then -

21 in feb, arab mare, 15.2hh
ex-endurance, good record apparently but haven't seen it personally
All tack, rugs etc included
Good to shoe, not good to load or travel alone and gets nervous if stabled alone
Just learning to jump but great fun to ride out, can still hold her own
Not a novice ride, can be spooky and nappy alone

this poor horse, I think some one ought to take her on give her a few mates to chill out with. Any horse kept in solitary is going to have issues. Horses are herd animals and need to be with others for their well being. Wouldn't we be screwball if made to live alone!!!

At the moment I'm astounded by the optimism that people have when selling their horses, and the prices they ask for!!!

I sometimes wonder whether they really want to sell them, or if they really want them to go to a good home?!!

Some people are just not realistic

I would be more worried about the "doesnt travel or load well"

Surely the seller could have put the work in before advertising her and got that problem sorted!

Far to highly priced!
