For a friend...

16.2hh 10 year old bay TBx mare.

Evented successfully up to novice level. Also showjumping affiliated and qualified for regional UK chasers. Snaffle mouth in all three disciplines. 100% in absolutely everything, never put a foot wrong. Can be hacked out alone or in company. 100% traffic, catch, box, clip, shoe etc.

Is now looking for a home to take her onto the next level of eventing.

I won't say what she's up for sale at. I'd like to see what people think.

Forgot to add that she comes with ALL tack, rugs, stable mats, bits n' pieces.

Has always been sound of wind and limb and is only for sale as owner is giving up.

We've been getting no suitable interest so I want to know if the price is affecting this.

I've seen her for sale so can't comment on price as I know what she's up 4. Lovely mare though and I'm suprised she hasn't sold?!?x

Really? Aww

She is such a sweetheart.

We've had a few people come to look but no one suitable yet. LOTS of timewasters though

She'll be going hunting this season if she hasn't sold.

When I had issues with my mare, she was on my list of 'wants' to go and try but decided to stick with current nag. Hope she finds a lovely home

She absolutely ticks all of the boxes for someone I know who is looking - damn shame she is so far away. Lady in question has up to £10k budget, I would put this mare at around 7k+.

I hope your friend finds her dream horse though, with a good budget like that I'm sure she will

Whats her dressage like, how many BE points does she have?
If she is doing a good test and getting regularly placed at Novice then 9-12 K
If she is more of a fun horse to get experience on then 7-9 K
ETS it is just the sort I would go out to buy but probably couldn't afford!

To be honest I don't understand the BE results on the web

I would say she is a pre novice schoolmistress, who is successful at novice and has the scope for more. She'd suit a competitive, experience person looking to move up in eventing. Either teenager or adult. So more of a fun horse in that sense

I would have been interested But she was £1000 over my budget and to be honest had done too much- I wanted something to work on, a bit of a project, but I think she has been very fairly advertised indeed! A lovely mare.

That is a total bargain! I wish my budget was a bit more! Grr!

People may be thinking there is something wrong with her for tha price maybe?

What level does she SJ at? Any winnings?

[/ QUOTE ]

Pre novice, and yes I just don't know what they are. I've groomed for her and she's won or places every time I have been with her, but I would have to look up the points and winnings.

*whispers* I'm probably a bad groom for not remembering

Jesus Christ !!!
I know if I was looking I'd probably think 'what's the catch !!!'

I tell you what if I had time/room for another I'd be seriously tempted.

My advise would be to splash out on a H&H colour advert, advertise her as a schoolmistress and add a couple of grand on the price, with open to offers to the right home

That's what I'm worried about. The only thing she's done this summer is UK Chasers and some local affiliated comps due to time. I think her owner doesn't want to put too much on her as she hasn't done much with her this summer, even though she has been eventing for a few years.

If she ups her price I can guarentee you'll get thousands of juniors wanting a JRN/OUI21 horse

She said she would like someone like that. I'll have a word and see what she thinks. What would you price her at?

BH - if i remember rightly when I read her add the title was 'Pre-Novice Schoolmistress' which read to me like she would only go as far as PN so perhaps a little rephrasing on the ad would help?x

Im not so good at eventers (and have no idea what a pre-novice track might be like) but with her experience and the fact that she seems straight forward i think the price is good.

Its a crappy time of year to try and sell.....sometimes it just takes time to find the right person with that sort of budget.

Add 2k to her price and it wouldnt surprise me if you got a lot more interest!

Lots of people seem to think these days if a horse isnt costing them a fortune, it isnt worth buying!

She sounds lovely!

Yep, her owner put her up as a pre novice schoolmistress, though she does have novice experience and winnings.
