To everyone who posted and PM'd support last week when my wonderful cob Ellie was PTS...it really, really helped to write it down, post pictures and hear people say lovely things about her..
I allowed Ellie to have a post mortem as the vets were pretty surprised/confused by the speed of her illness and the fact she seemed SO content and well 4 days before she died. I had the pathology report today and it was definitely cancer or equine lymphosarcoma, mixed cell lymphoma of the alimentary tract(Unhorsey OH wrote it down like that so hope that makes sense)!!. Probably starting in her throat as that is where swellings first appeared a month previous..
Theres some comfort in the fact that there was absolutely nothing that could have been done for her and that when she did go downhill she was so dosed up with drugs that she was pretty unaware...
I don't half miss her though...
