Sorry, double posting in here and new lounge. Not posted in this part of the forum before as I'm not currently a competition-ing person. But I think this horse is more that way so would just like to pick your brains on a hypothetical how much would you pay?

16.2hh full TB mare. 3 years old. Chunky type not the fine sort of TB. Lovely to handle will let you faff about to your hearts content. Backed and riding out, not done much in the school, popped a cross pole, hacking out in company - on quiet roads and off road, not phased by tractors, dustbin lorries but hasn't been truely tested in busier traffic. Cantered in company, on stubble fields and up gallops. Only downside can be a little grumpy and has kicked out at others a couple of times out hacking. Has been known to put in a buck mainly on canter transitions which seems purely baby-like and balance related - not worrying at all. Not massively fit and needs to lose some weight. Is a pest on the horse walker and stands still and stops it!! Good to shoe, has been clipped, loading needs improvement but nothing that shouldn't be sortable - very food driven!! Has generally been a star to start.

How much do we reckon?

Many Thanks

2k....unless she shows smashing paces/jump for potential to event/dressage/sj...then possibly a bit more...

but at the moment with your description 2k maximum.. xx

Thanks guys. I think she does have potential. She has a nice action and nice jump but not "wow!" if you know what I mean (yet anyway). Good hock action but she's not a lightweight really athletic type - this evening she was described as a whale when being moved over in her stable, and to be fair she is a bit heffalump-ish. However I am useless at spotting potential and I know that quite a few racing people like her and think she will make a nice national hunt horse - she's bred for it her great-uncle (I think) is Denman!

Agree with the others. As a competition horse she has another 18 months before she can get a reasonable amount of competing done as sensible new owners won't want to overdo it with a 4yo. At this time of year I'd consider a 4 rising 5yo but not a 3 rising 4 for those reasons, though that is a personal decision.
