Bringing my horse in from field tonight I noticed a prominent 'creaking' sound coming from her hind quarters (thinking possibly hip or stifle) this is very sudden and she doesn't 'appear' lame however she hasn't had a full work up. I am calling vet 2moro for advice but not sure to have the vet examine her or to call out physio. In the meantime she is tucked up in her stable happy with her haylage :) she is 17 & has never presented any health problems or lameness & is in light to moderate work.

It could be arthritis?! If you are worried speak to you vet he may recommend physio but I Sid start with the vet. I imagine there is nothing to worry about xxx

Vast majority of physios won't treat a horse until the vet has seen it, unless its an ongoing 6 monthly check so that could answer your dilema!
