when you ride do you wear apple catcher knickers ( a good size comfortable pant ) or bum floss other wise known as the thong!

My self, I opt for the large and comfortable every time but my daughter wears the other.
( pains me to think about it lol ) I can't for the life of me see how the bum floss is at all comfortable and that one doesn't end up with a chaffed bottom.

What you do other ladies have to say?

Haha, bum floss! I love it!

Have to say, yes bum floss it is with me, however thats mainly because I dont want VPL!!

When riding at home, I have some lovely pairs of seamless big ones that are so comfy!!

bexcy-bee x

When I was a young whipper snapper with a constitution of a twig, I used to ride in thong, as it would sit where it should without rubbing my bottom.
Now that I have grown up and round ;) my derrière is much better in a sensibly sized, biggish knickers.

ETS VPL is really the least of a problem with my image :D:o

Thong for me as there is nothing worse than big knickers trying to get between my cheeks!! That's really uncomfortable, with a thong you don't feel it. Sometimes don't wear any! lol

I used to think that until I wore a thong for a 4 hour hack.....never again!!!! Friction burn is an understatement :o

Comfy knickers normally. I have worn a thong on a few long hacks and never again!!!!
I will wear a thong at shows though...nothing worse than a photo of me with VPL in a frame hung on my wall :)

Apple catchers ha haa :D never heard of that one before.

Doesn't make any difference to me, what I've found is how tight or comfortable your jods/breaches/jeans are, the waist width on your saddle, how warm you are down below, that contributes to the chaffing rather than the type of knickers you wear, candy floss knick knocks won't cheese grate if unless there too small for you surely, I more than comfortable riding in a thong, infact the less bulk the better! :D

A friend of mine knows a paramedic who was called out to a riding accident, he said there was a lot of blood but they couldn't work out where from, so they took off her trousers, she had a thong on that had somehow got pulled tight when she came off & it had badly cut her lady garden.
Makes my eyes water just thinking about it, I wonder how she explained that one on her sick note!

Absolutely not the floss (I call it cheese wire) for me. Too blimmin uncomfortable. It's M&S Tanga briefs all the way. Don't care about VPL as I'm nearly always in dark breeches anyway (and I don't do showjumping!)

Ouch :eek::eek::eek:

Bum floss for me!! The smaller the better, I find the seams of big knickers dig in and I have to adjust them a lot!! This whole post made me snigger!

Definitely 'apple catchers' - and frankly the thought of my unfettered flesh bysected by cheese wire and wobbling all over the place is not attractive!

Big is beautiful, that's what I say :-)

I can't think of anything worst than riding in a thong!!! My jacket covers any vpl, unless in jumping position, and not had many vpl photos anyway! Anyway, as someone said, vpl is the least of my backside's problems!

haha love this post, apple catcher all the way or as my OH says Granny Pants!

I cant think of anything worse than a thong, plus I hate seeing women with thin white jods on with the triangle showing and back and ass fat hanging over their thongs errrrrrrrrrrr!! rank!

erm what ever I have on that day :o but I do have a few pairs of under wear that I cant ride in as it is just painful but they are not apple catchers or bum floss  but if I am competing then it is what ever dosent show and is comfy

I am perfectly comfortable riding in a thong but tend to wear big knickers just in case I end up in A&E :D

whatever I'm already wearing which could be a thong, French knickers, bikini style pants or if im really short on laundry nice big granny pants or nothing at all! :D i always mean to wear a sports bra too (not that i'm particularly big at a B cup) but never seem to mange it and always end up riding in very pretty but ridiculously unsupportive lace or silk numbers  :D
