A little update from me and Mrs Fox..
We had my mums freind come down y-day (also an instructor) to give me a lesson, plan was to ride in my new bridle.. didnt quite go to plan.. i bought her the right bit a french link egg butt snaffle, but the one i bought has small rings and her current one has big rings, does this matter? would you still try it out? also instead of having buckle bis to connect to the bit the ends of the reins have rings!? so we didnt use it
but hey ho another time!
Well to start off with she certainley made and impression! she wouldnt come in from the feild.. so 20mins later after circlingme numerous times oh and a hanful of feed later and me almost face planting the floor she was in..Mums frined was crying with laughter when i finally got back!
so my plan of staying clean didnt quite go to plan
We strated off by warming up wiht some long rein walk on both reins with a few circles, we then started some trot work mainley rising then abit of sitting cause this for me in when things start to go wrong.. postion goes awful when sitting trot
so we did lots of practise circles rein changes ect and some no stirups, she does nap a bit but nothing major,as for the canter.. my instructor thinks she hasnt been schooled very well which is true, she was before me happy hacker! so not used to cantering in school, but where shes getting on a bit and i will soon out grown her, she suggest that trying to teach a old horse new tricks is not the way forward so just to concetrate on spending many more hapy times together in the woods where i can build her up and get a good canter. However when the weather gets better and the arena isnt so icky we will do a bit more schooling just to help our balance and my postion but nothing major, just a few laps round before heading out into the woods, maybe also some trot pole work just to make it a bit more intresting. Overall despite not getting canter it was a very good day with lots of positive outcome for both me and foxy. I've now realised that we never will and are not made to be dressage divas but instead must instead spend out days covered in mud having some fun out in the woods wiht some poor attempts of matchy matchy

Its made me think diffrently bout what my priorties should be riding wise and whats best for my pony.. anyway some pictures..
