Hi all, I've just been lurking on here lately and not posting very much, but I thought it was time for a little update on George and how he is getting on. For those that don't know he had an op in July for hind limb PSD and since then we have become champion walkers!! I feel like we have both walked miles. He had a couple of months on box rest and then a spell in a small paddock and as long as he was quiet he was allowed out with his mates.

So far he hasn't put a foot wrong, he has been a saint to walk in hand and has been generally quiet in the field (I think he was overcome by being turned out without his muzzle on :biggrin3:)

A week or so ago I was given the ok to ride him a couple of times a week, so I donned my BP and hat and had a friend on hand to hold/lead him just in case. It was like we'd never been away he just trundled quietly around the yard :smile3: He has even been good being walked in the evenings by the light of my headtorch - bless him.

Next week we get to start a little bit of trot work, I am really apprehensive about this as it was the pace that he was most lame, so it could be make or break time - so I have definately got everything crossed.

I am trying to do his rehab really slowly and carefully in the hope that it will work, and if it doesn't at least I won't look back and wonder 'what if'.

Well I think that's all for now, thanks for reading :smile3:

Woohoo! :D I'm so glad to hear that everything seems to be going in the right direction this far. It really sounds as if he lives up to your user name Gorgeous George, being a gorgeous gentleman even when he's a convalescent.

Fingers crossed all goes well when you begin the trot work.

So lovely to see such a positive update from you - sounds like you have done a wonderful job with his rehab, and he has been such a star.

I hope the steady ridden work goes well - please give us another update soon. xx
