After the operation on Thursday, I have been dying to see my girl
smile.gif

So I go up at 6.30am, mucked out Hannah and set off for the hour and a half journey to Yorkshire so I could be there for the visiting hours of 9-10am. It was gorgeous and snowy over there, so I took a few pictures as we left the vets

As we arrived (I dragged my Mum out of bed) the vet explained she had just had her bandages changed because she had trashed them last night

But that she was very good having them changed and looked well. So we walked to where she was stabled through the snow and I couldn't wait to see my girl!

I walked into the stable block and didn't know which one she was in... so I clicked her and shouted her name very softly and I heard a huge commotion and then her familiar deep whicker. She went crazy as soon as she heard me and just kept whickering and stretching her neck to see me

I had some polos in my pocket so gave her all of those, lots of scratches and a few tears of joy at seeing her. Even my Mum filled up when she saw Grace's reaction to hearing me

We did take some pictures, but the battery was dying (plus my Mum was taking them

) so they are a bit rubbish...

I am picking her up on Wednesday because it is my first day off... I can't wait to get her home

But until then, she is bumpless because her mummy sent her with packed breakfasts and dinners

Thanks hun! I was quite nervous about seeing her. She looks no different to when I dropped her off, which I didn't expect

The only thing is she now has clipped out back legs and a bloody patch again on her neck that I had only just got rid of
blush.gif

Bless her! She looks very happy, as do you!

At least she has both back legs clipped out! My monster only has the one clipped and looks very strange......

So glad to hear that she is doing well.

Thank you... I just cannot wait to get her home now
smile.gif

Plus, green just isn't her colour

You'll have to clip the other one out, then he matches

Awww she looks great- and your description of her reaction made me cry! it so lovely! how long will she need to be bandaged for?

Her reaction just made me so teary and the closeness we have is now confirmed if that makes sense... I would never have believed such a strong bond in just over 12 months could be possible.

The bandages and staples will be removed before I bring her home on Wednesday

Green legs are in this season (or so ive heard)

So glad she is now on the mend. Finger crossed it all works out! Id love to think my mare would react similarly... its nice to feel loved!

Oh Becki what a lovely bond you have with Grace, and so so nice to see her looking so bright. Bet you can't wait to get her home now?

I'm counting down the days!!!

I am dragging my husband to the yard with me today to clean out her stable and take all the mats out to disinfect them
smile.gif
Oh, he is so thrilled
tongue.gif

and the hours and the minutes too
grin.gif
Not been on much for a few days sorry
frown.gif
What has the vet said about how the op went?
And what better way to spend Easter Sunday than cleaning a stable, especially rubber matting
tongue.gif
at least you'll be together.........................

grin.gif

grin.gif
That is exactly what I told him
grin.gif

Yes, the operation went well... it was straight forwards and a success in as far as they did everything they needed to. We won't know whether she is 100% sound until the trot up in 4 weeks time (I think) however, she was only 1/10 lame last week through healing on her own so I am feeling as hopeful as I can
smile.gif

hee hee
grin.gif

Oh Becki that's wonderful news re the op, will have fingers and everything else crossed for her trot up
grin.gif
Has she got to stay on box rest until?

Yes, she has four weeks of box rest but she can be tied up outside her stable and taken for a tiny stroll around the yard
smile.gif
So it's not too bad as i hate putting new bedding in with her because she helps me take it out of the bag and it takes 10 times longer
smile.gif

Oh that's brill as I know how annoying a "helping mum to muck out" horse can be
crazy.gif
as their version of helping is so much more of a hindrance than a help
crazy.gif

Pidge actually opens his own shavings if I'm not quick enough, and he will helpfully take out the haylage from the muck barrow and eat it
mad.gif
and he's constantly stuck to me and gives me groomies or just gets in the way so he gets evicted quite quickly
