I was just making up the feeds this evening as usual when I noticed something in my pony's old grazing muzzle, which is hanging on a hook on the back wall with other bits of tack and yard stuff.

Thought it was going to be a rat or something a bit nasty as I could see brown furry bits through the holes in the muzzle. So excited to find a little robin sitting in a nest of Hi-fi lite (bits off the floor) and my horse's hair off the yard :) The grazing muzzle has provided a perfect little container for the nest. The little bird was just sitting in there looking so relaxed.

It must be coming in and out through a cat flap which is no longer used.

Will get meal worms tomorrow and make her feel at home.

Can't wait to see the chicks, I've never seen baby robins close up before :)

Ive got an old muzzle hanging in my tack room hoping to attract a robin, no luck so far although we do have a tame one in the stable block. Lovely little birds, I hope yours manages to raise a little robin family for you to admire.

Ahh this is lovely. we didn't move 6 small hay bales in our barn one year as a robin nested in them. Everything moved around them:)

Think this could be similar. I had been planning a spring clean in there but will need to leave the back wall for now, don't want to frighten her away :)

Robins seem to nest in the most amazing places. I have had them in my shed several times, in various plant pots and containers and year before last one tried to nest in my outhouse, over the washing machine, in the dented lid of a can of paint. We had to move that one on before the nest was built as I couldn't be without machine for that long but I felt very guilty doing it.

I adore robins!

I've had a pesky messy problem this past week caused, I thought, by parking my car under a tree at home. Every morning, right on the driver's side door! I've been trying to wipe it off as it's bad for paintwork, only to find more the next morning.

Yesterday I peered out the bedroom window and caught the culprit in action - a tiny robin playing on the wing mirror! He was tapping his reflection with his beak, bouncing up and down and really having fun! He can make all the mess he wants, he's so cute!

My grandma feeds two of them out of her living room window and they come to call now! She shouts "Robbie Robbie Robbie" out of the window and along they hop. At 94, she doesn't get out much and it gives her so much pleasure.

Awww how lovely, I've currently got a nest right up in the corner of my stable - it's too high to see what's inside though. :D

Aw how sweet! My mum does the same, it drives my dad crazy as she attracts all sorts in to the garden!
