These may well be the last photos of our little Cloud before she has her baby in a week or so's time. I thought you might like to see how little Cloud is doing. She is very chilled right now and has settled into her new house happily.

Cloud moved into her new house about 2 weeks ago. She has lived in this paddock before so knows it well; but this time she is living here alone.

Here is the day she moved in 2 weeks ago. It was still a little chilly so she was still wearing her pyjamas:

2 weeks later, she is perfectly happy. She has plenty of good food to eat and likes to have the house all to herself.....well apart from her visitors who like to keep her company.

It's a semi-detached property and she sometimes has trouble with the rowdy neighbours. She is resigned to the fact that sometimes her visitors are difficult to get rid of:

AND there always seems to be people watching her.....poor Cloud with her nosy neighbours:

Her house may be semi-detached ...... however she likes her 2 acre garden:

And the best bit is that she lives right next door to her husband and father of her baby.......however he happens to be living with 2 floosies!

Nothing like living it up with the ladies when yours in pregnant eh! To give him his dues though - he would much prefer to be with Cloud and they do still kiss and cuddle over the gate.

Oh dear! Neither can I!! I can't believe I am letting myself get soooo excited now - I almost wish I hadn't put the Ticker on my signature as everytime I look at it I think "OMG, only 8 days to go!!"

Eeeeeeeek!!!

Oh of course, it probably didn't look like that the last time you were up here. And it might not look like that the time after this time you come up....as the size is being doubled - squeeze 'em in eh?

Plenty of horses than need shade! Yes, it looks really good - now you just need to get your other building work done this year!!!

Hope the weather stays good for you all from now on.

Is the plait instead of a bandage (good idea) or has megan been beautifying Cloud again?

Bless you Tia, hubby saw your lovely run in and said (no prompting, honestly) "That's what we need"

I need at least two more. The annoying thing is that with our westerly prevailing wind the run ins face away from the house

Except for one which is side on and not much good, but I can see it from my window.

Are you going to let Cloud foal where she chooses or keep her up in her residence when the time comes?

Thanks everyone. She is pretty contented today and I am going to start testing her milk from today so hopefully will have a better idea as to whether she will be on time, late or early.

Enfys; I will let her foal wherever she chooses to. I'm not into this manipulating them lark; I prefer as natural and stress-free as possible. We have lights everywhere on this paddock so wherever she chooses to do it, we will be able to keep a close eye on her. I feel that she will likely foal in a particular spot in her shelter though - she seems to enjoy lying in this place and has made a comfy little bed for herself there. She actually doesn't go out of her shelter much, so she must feel pretty safe in there.

I prefer plaits in tails although I do have a bandage to pop on nearer the time if needed.

I have my little bucket of kit ready and it has everything I think I might need in it; here's hoping for a safe and stressfree birth.

As to our shelter - well it is outgrown now LOL!! We are planning to put another 6 bays on it this year so it will end up being 154ft long, LOL!! Now THAT'S a field shelter LOL!! We have another one to put up aswell but it will start off being 72ft, same as this one is, as we can always add on if necessary.

We are lucky in that our shelters face South so in the winter they get the sun in there pretty much all day, but in the Summer because the sun is so high in the sky, they still get shade from it. I had the roof slope the "wrong" way so as to allow this. When you build yours, do remember to strap the roof properly - don't forget about the snow-load.....this is very important as you don't want your roof collapsing.
