Thank you for all your advice.

I've cut the grass and started putting little Bertie out in the garden. He did 2/4 poos and wees successfully in the garden yesterday....a break through!

I've abandoned all the pads and he now has some newspaper on his favourite "visiting place", in the house. He manages to use 70% of the time and if he is caught short during the night.

He's now sleeping downstairs, with out a peep all night and any accidents are easy to clean as the florring is all wood, down there.

At last....some progress!!!

A little vid demonstrating the step problem, in the garden. I've tried to make some puppy steps with bricks, but he is just too small, so will have to be supervised until he is bigger

Ahhh he is soooo cute, i see your issues with the steps. He seemed to decide to go with the alternate route rather than use the puppy steps!

What a sweetie pie!!!!

Re house training - we never used pads, and only small area of paper in P's run, and she was pretty much housetrained after a fortnight. Just took her outside lots and praised and treat when she did her business.

I think bitches are easier though!
