A little vid of my TB that came out of training in November-CC please!

Brilliant, well done! You're a gorgeous combination :) If it was me, I'd want a little more impulsion in the canter... but at the same time if I could get my boy to collect in canter like yours (instead of eating up the entire school in four huge strides and falling in on all the corners) maybe I wouldn't :D

EDIT: you just posted that explanation before I stuck my little two cents worth up, there ya go! Lurvely :)

He is gorgeous! Well done - and, yes you can come and school my mare too!

Perhaps a little bit on his forehand and lacking impulsion in canter - but seriously, he is gorgeous and you look amazing together.

Looks very balanced, rhythmic and happy in his work! Well done to have achieved such a lot in such a shot space of time. Aren't TBs great?!!

He's absolutely gorgeous and the two of you together are a delight to watch. Just a couple of points: he's overbent all the time, isn't tracking up in trot and his canter isn't really covering the ground enough. Your hands seem to be in supermarket trolley mode and occasionally you lose the straight line from elbow to wrist to horse's mouth. All this is peanuts really, just adding finesse to get your dressage marks even higher! With a little more energy from your legs, contained into the hand, everything would be perfect. Easy to say if he's a natural speed merchant but it would give you a bigger WOW! Well done x

Ditto Box-Of-Frogs. You just need a tadbit more forwards to get him to come up infront and engage a bit more behind et voila! An amazing little horse! Oh and try to bring you hands up and together a bit more :)

Apart from that you have done very well with this TB in such a short space of time. I really do love to see a reschooler ex racer - they arne't the nutcases people say they are!
You are also a lovely quiet rider and it really compliments this horse-well done :)

Nothing more to add as the others have mentioned the lack of controlled 'oomph' :-) Just wanted to comment on what a lovely, quiet rider you are and how smart your horse is. My gorgeous tb has never raced and even at the age of 15 gets so excited about canter work that she squeals with delight. We have uncontrolled 'oomph'....

Oh, there is plenty of oomph, there was way too much, hence having to slow it all right down before bringing it back but in my way, not the wall of death way!

I think you have done absolutely fantastic with him - if I can achieve the same with mine, I would be delighted. As for the people who have left a bit of crit, I doubt they would be able to have achieved anything more in the space of four months.

She asked for CC and was politely given it along with plenty of compliments, no-one has doubted what an amazing job she has done!

OP - He is looking fantastic, you have done a fab job in such a small space of time, can't wait to see how is is going in another 4 months! Now, when do you want to come and school mine?! :p :D :D

What a fabulous achievement! As another ex-racer owner I am thrilled for you! I do agree with the critique comments and did not find any of them harsh. We can't see what we are doing wrong whilst riding and constructive comments are a great help.

Hope you post another video 4 months from now!
