Could you guys please hazard a guess for us at what breed our lovely 16 y/o is?
She's a rescue pony and from 2 and under, we know nothing of what she went through (and she had/has issues!! :p)
She is 14.2hh.
TIA!

I'd have said welsh cross from her feathering and ear shape lol - I'd have thought cross thoroughbred from the first pick but considering her size not sure (unless ma or pa were quite small)

Saying that; in the second photo where she looks chunkier you could believe she is nearly full bred!

But i'm no expert on this!

Looks a bit like my mare but with more feather so Welsh D X TB or Standardbred to me.
This is my mare (Welsh D X Standardbred, she's 14.3hh full up) to give you an idea, she has the typical two bone bits down her head (can't really tell from this pic though sorry its last autumn!) and the sort of long face with smaller eyes.

same sort of "look" to me

Thank you!
She can be a bit sharp so maybe she has got a bit of TB in her?...she's fairly chunky but in the second pic she has her full winter coat :p the field picture is a semi-pro one taken by an ex of mine.
Pixxie I meant what makes you say Welsh? :p sorry, I didn't put it very well!
Very much like yours, Pony_Puzz - she's beautiful!! Her head shape is very much the same and she is a bit of an inbetweener between 14.2 and 14.3 :) (eventually managed to measure her today - she has big issues with the measuring tape!)

Oooh fab!! Does this mean we have the option of another class to try too?? A Welsh class!!
We are going into Veterans :) only in hand though as she's not up to ridden classes yet.

I would say full Welsh D, and they are sharp but good jumpers and very clever horses. i had one that was x with a TB she was wicked I loved her.

im going the other way and im gonna say she has dales in her. its the head that says that to me, dales x with something.

I'm with China!! She is very similar to my sis in law's pony, and that is Dales x Arab. Your ones head is quite fine, but she has alot of bone, which is what the above has too. has been a great all rounder as well, doing LDR, SJ and affiliated dressage.

Dales pony was my first thought or maybe Welsh D. With a quarter (but doubt any more) TB or ISH? She is beautiful!

Aww thank you :)
I doubt its any more too, she's a little too chunky to be any more.
Can deff get away with M&M then! :) would you go for large breeds or small? She's a bit borderline of both - we've been against dartmoors, and sects A&B when we've done small and against fells and dales in large - one judge said we should be in small 'cause of her size....but I'd have thought large.
any ideas???
