couple of people on another thread were asking how we were doing so here is an update for you.

been working as a small animal vet for just over 2 months now - enjoying it most of the time (when annoying clients dont ruin it!) Doing lots of surgery and keeping busy and time is flying.

Dan update - he had both his annular ligaments in his hind legs cut at Newmarket just over 8weeks ago - been doing in-hand walking and then last week he trotted up sound, so starting ridden walking at the weekend. Just doing 30mins at the moment and he is loving it. power-walking the whole way/jogging when he wants to be naughty - i cant help but laugh at him though because it's just so amazing to have him feeling so well and so sound. keep waiting for him to go wrong again. 4 more weeks of walking and then we'll start some trot work again. I wont be taking him back in the dressage arena though - his last test was at the Winter Champs and he got the best result of his life - I couldn't ask for anything more from him. it's time to bow out gracefully - we will be doing hacking and some veteran showing next year if he stays sound - after all he's nearly 21 now!

Good to hear that Dan looks to be on the mend! Am sure the pair of you will have lots of fun in the showring - Dan could do that with his front legs tied behind his ears and his eyes shut - you are bound to do well

definitely no speedy vibes needed at the moment - i do love riding him when he wants to go though - he would never go without me asking, but it's just the fact he wants to makes me laugh - i'm sure i spend the entire ride with a silly grin on my face but i was having to seriously consider putting him to sleep earlier this year as he was so lame - so far, the op has done him the world of good and despite a lot of people thinking i shouldn't put him through it, i'm just so glad i did. just hope he continues to make good progress and we can get out to some parties next year - he does love his parties!

I'm so pleased to hear you are both doing well and that Dan's looking forward to a happy semi-retirement.

Mac is paddock sound with no pads, no shoes and no medication and one the insurance is all sorted out he's off to retire in a huge paddock with three friends to play with. He's takent o the quiet life perfectly and seems so much happier for it.

Nice to hear from you Star, so pleased everything is working out nicely, with the job and of course Bootiful Dan
