HH my heart absolutely sank initially at the post title and my eyes welled up at the thought and then I was the post below contained the word 'pleased' and the tears were joy!
He's ok though looks a little worried when anyone new approaches expecting something painful or a jab to happen, and he whinnies when you walk away.
He has lost a little weight which is to be expected but he will soon put that on.
Just been out to check him and he's fast asleep on a nice thick bed, no doubt relieved to be home.
He has to be given anti biotics for another week at least, his dressings changed 24 hourly, and on virtual box rest for a month.
I am awaiting my vet's bill with trepidation, they have just increased all their charges by 10% as they were very reasonably priced before, but to get the level of dedication and professionalism they give is rare, the vet even went in on his day off and at night to see if he was ok..
Now all we need is for him to grow up to be a superstar, can you imagine the gang of H and Hounders if he ever gets to Badminton? he'll have his own fan club!
One of the reasons we fought for him so hard is because he did have that spark that few horses have, a sort of quiet dignity that says they know their place in the world..
I'll keep the pics coming as he gets back to normal, we can't relax just yet but the leg seems cold and infection free at the moment..
OMG my heart sank when I first saw this post in case it was bad news. So glad it is good news, keeping fingers crossed that he carries on to make a full recovery and doesn't give you any more scares.
Gosh that's fantastic news. Well done both of you but especially CCJ. You are so dedicated.
It will all be a distant memory when you're going around Badminton on him
