I'm so bloody tired! Have just been promoted (which is always welcome don't get me wrong!) but we've had quite a few people leave at work and they still haven't been replaced so it's all a bit manic at the moment. I'm now managing a branch and a department with staff underneath me and I just don't seem to have the energy or motivation to ride after work regularly which is annoying me greatly. Then on my days off i stop running around like a nutter and just seem to want to sleep all day and really feel quite rough. I suppose I'm just hoping I will get used to the new workload and stress levels in time and I'll be back to riding regularly again! Any one got any tips for combatting tiredness?

Cookies and cream if you got through that and a couple of bottles of wine for anyone who can come up with a solution for me!

Xx

red bull - may not give you wings but gives you energy

and coffee. lifesaver when assignments are due in :D

Was thinking about pro plus might just have to try it! Unfortunately though I absolutely can't stand red bull or coffee so they're out I'm afraid!

Thanks for the suggestions though!

Go for it, you get the caffeine without the disgusting taste of coffee :) On a bad day, I have one in the morning, and then one at lunch if necessary. It's less caffeine than is in a standard mug of coffee as well. Just try not to have after about 5pm, as you won't sleep, even though you'll feel shattered. Its a very strange feeling lol

Hi Try to get a good nights sleep, i know its difficult when your under stress etc, eat regular meals, take a multivitamin tab with iron in case you need more of these, dont take pro plus etc not good for heart (may get palpitations) and you may feel worse. If no improvement see your GP for a check up. Hope you feel better soon :)

Oh yes, Berocca is really good.

Other than that, I guess it's all down to time management and trying to stay on top of things so that it's not TOO stressful. I had the same sort of thing happen to me a couple of years back though, with the office being understaffed, which resulted in silly mistakes occuring, which resulted in more stress and even longer hours sorting them all out. It was really miserable - I totally feel for you.

Hope they hire some more people and it gets better soon!

OP - I really know how you feel. I'm in the same position, too knackered, and feel the need to save energy to cope with work. Also have to deal with some very difficult people.

I feel better if I do scrape together the energy to ride. I don't often in the evenings though, and should as with an older horse need to make the most of it.

:(

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I tend to be fast asleep at 10pm at the latest and I get up at 6.30am (generally just dozing from about 4.30am though) so I think I get enough sleep but if it doesn't get any better I will go to the doctors for a check up though.

Martlin I'm very much like you normally just force myself to do it and then feel much better afterwards but I'm really struggling at the moment! But tomorrow I am going to ride!

Berocca is a good short term fix as its a very high dose of vitamin C. Also truly excellent at helping with hangovers and general sleep deprivation.

What no one has mentioned though, is that if you take it for a while, your wee will turn bright orange! and you are not supposed to stay on it permantly (makes sense - if your wee goes orange it would mean your body was getting rid of excess).

Orange wee eh? I'll have to keep an eye out for that! I'm hoping really that my body will adjust after a few weeks and I won't have to take it for a long period - just to get me through the initial shock of it all!
