Apologies in advance this is long, disjointed and generally grumbley!

I've had my lovely, wonderful horse for just over 3 months now. He is the first horse I have ever owned. I have ridden all my life but never felt I had the time/funds/commitment to dedicate to a horse so never owned my own - although I was desperate to. Anyway, 4ish months ago and I decided to hell with it, I was 30, I was financially fairly stable and I was going to find the time if it killed me. And 3 months ago Eggs arrived into my life. BUT! He arrived with a horrid cold - cue a week of solitary and not being able to ride, a few weeks later my mum got really ill and I had to dash home for 3 weeks, a few weeks after that his fetlock swelled up and he was box rested for 10 days followed by limited turn out Finally on Tuesday vet told me I could start riding him in walk for 20mins 3-4 times a week. I was ecstatic, saddled up, got on and horse bronked as soon as I sat on him. I initially thought he was being a sod so took him into the school and lunged him (in walk, no tight circles!) but very quickly realised he was not moving right. Took saddle off, moved fine, saddle on, all wrong again (saddle was checked prior to him coming back into work last week so it should fit!). Anyway, I have the chiropractor coming tomorrow with vet to follow if he can't find anything wrong, but I am just worried, and fed up, and generally miz. I waited so long for this wonderful horse and I have barely been able to ride him. I know I am being melodramatic, I know he will come good, I know that the likelihood of it being something like KS is low but my mind is thinking all the worst things. Anyway, pointless miserable post. Sorry all. :o

It could be that his saddle doesn't fit anymore. He may have changed shape with moving/being box rested. Some saddle fitters don't really fit saddles to moving horses so i wouldn't rule out getting a second opinion, depending on what your chiropracter finds.

OP I know exactly how you feel. I've had my boy almost 3 months now but what with getting married I haven't had much chance to ride. We got home from honeymoon 3 weeks ago and I arranged to hack him out with a few of the girls on the yard for the first time cue him broncking at a puddle. Wasn't sure whether this was hijinks after a couple of weeks off or something more so kept an eye on him. Next time I rode he was humping his back and refusing to stand so I hopped off and got the physio booked asap.

Physio came and said he was incredibly green and unbalanced which is clouding whether it's a muscular issue (he's carrying tension over his loins and pelvis) or something worse so we're on 6 weeks of physio and hoping he doesn't go lame in the meantime (as this will indicate something more than muscular). We have a follow up appointment in a week where I'm hoping we'll be given the all clear to start riding again but until then we're doing lots of groundwork and daily stretches.

To make matters worse we're halfway through a 6 month trial so I haven't even paid for him yet :(

Fingers crossed your boy comes good and try not to think of worst case scenarios until you're actually faced with them.

Thank you both for your kind comments. I think (hope) he has just put something out being an eejit in the field post box rest. I had the physio out last week who gave his muscles the all clear, but of course I wasn't riding him at this point and he was only just out on turnout, so don't know if he was bad then or not. Ho humm. These things are sent to try us or something along those lines! The positive outcome of all of this is that we are getting to know each other very well very quickly. Less positive is he is getting fat, I am going grey and my bank account is looking slightly less healthy! Good luck with your boy GG2B - it always seems to be one thing after the other. Ozpoz -I will look at getting saddle re-fitted by super-duper Andy the Saddleman when I can get him.
