A name for my horse please!

I really must get round to registering my new (ish!) horse, but have yet to come up with a name! He's a 6 year old ISH gelding, by Diamond Mine (Flagmount Diamond/King of Diamonds) out of a mare called Flower Girl (!) who is by Clover Hill. Anybody got any clever ideas?

I've only just got around to registering my ISH mare recently, after owning her for 2 years. She also has King of Diamonds bloodlines.

It's tricky coming up with a name isn't it?

The first thing that sprung to mind from your gene pool was Diamond Clover, then I looked it up on the www.allbreedpedigree site and saw there was already an ID by that name, though he died last year so I guess it's available again (don't know the official rules on that one).

You can always use unconventional spelling to claim a name you like that is already taken. Our girl is Tamarysk as Tamarisk was taken.

Hmmm? I wonder if he would end up with issues in later life if we saddled him (!) with Flower Boy! Various Diamond Clover/Clover Diamonds competing at the moment. Mum came up with Lucky Diamond, but just wondering if it's a bit corny!
 
It depends on where you are registering the horse I think. Just because a racehorse is called something, I'm not sure it stops you using the name to register BE for example?

There's probably a Diamond Geezer BE already, in which case you could have Diamond Geezer II, or III, or IV, or however many.......!
