A jenny donkey who was part of the RSPCA Buckinghamshire rescue we helped with this week, has given birth
As many are aware, this week Redwings was involved in a large rescue of horses from Buckinghamshire and we took in 21 equines that day for veterinary care. This was an RSPCA-led case involving local Police and other charities including the ILPH and the Blue Cross. All organisations concerned have worked this week as a team, and Redwings was pleased to involve 30 of its staff and eight horseboxes.

We are delighted today to be able to tell our supporters that one donkey, who was heavily pregnant on Wednesday when we took her, gave birth late on Thursday night to her brown and white foal, who we have named Timothy. Both mother and foal are doing well and being closely monitored. It’s lovely to think that this new life has arrived in the safety and care of our sanctuary.

Thank god Timothy will never know the pain and life his mother and the other 110 horses, ponies and donkeys did.

why not something to mark Where they have all came from!?! But maybe he's named after someone that helped save them?

is Timothy one of the tougher grasses? Just a thought, he must be pretty tough to have hung in there through the ordeal his mother has been through.

Thats such lovely news. Ive been following this from over here and its completly heartbreaking to think what those poor horses have been through.

How lovely that the baby came now and not a couple of days earlier.

I've only just found this 1.
And guess what, I can't see for tears, not tears of pain like it has been these past few days but tears of joy for Timothy being born. Its fantastic news.
