We had a rather rushed morning getting ready as she'd been horrendous when I tried to school her on Friday night just bouncing everywhere so I wanted to give her a quick lunge before we went just in case she was slightly off but she was fine so threw some plaits in and we set off. It was a nice journey other than the 50 average speed bit on the A1. So we arrived on time and walked the XC which I though was a really nice course but very big, a meaty step up and palisade at 4, some curved Bee Hives at 8 & 9, sunked road at 11 and 12, interesting water bit at 13 and 14, an open spread at 16 and a trakhener at 17 with a narrow and wide table at 20 so no real let up fences once you got passed fence 10!

We were running early so had some breakfast, finished plaiting, then got on her and she was very compliant and chilled so I only did 20 mins, untacked her and left her then got on 15 mins before my test and only did a small amount. Decided to go to the main warm up about 8 mins before as it was very crowded and we worked in in the corner of the lorry park (nice open space) otherwise. She was going really nicely until we got cut up and had to do a handbrake turn in canter in the warm up a few minutes before we went in but I thought she'd regained some sort of relaxed state just in time.

The test itself I was very pleased with, the trot work was the best she's done much more rhythmical and true than last week and no overbentness either but again the canter let us down but I still thought it would be about a 37.

We got 42.5, which I was a bit disappointed with but looking at the sheet it says the right stuff just the marks are quite low but it was the same for everyone and we weren't last :D!

Went over to the SJing very early as they seemed to be letting you go whenever so warmed up and put my number on the board and went in, the course wasn't massive but some tricky lines with lots of room to choose the wrong one. She was great though, much better than she has been recently and it was a more flowing round. We touched the first part of the double so clever pony decided to veer left a bit and squeeze in two little ones and didn't touch the second part :D. So another clear :D :D!

Got ready straight away for XC and she warmed up fine just a little bit keen in places, went over to the start. Set off nicely to the first, a sort of roll top thing covered in brush, and she decided to go on a long one and tried to brush through it but took the half the fence with her and I landed on the floor - yes that's the not so pingy bit ;)!

But I got straight back on and since 2 and 3 were smaller and she felt fine I decided to take it steadily, see how she was and make a decision by fence 10 where things got bigger. She was a little sticky over fences 2 - 6 at which point I decided I wasn't being positive enough and leaving it all up to her so rode her properly into 7 which she was fab over, as well as the bee hives at 8 and 9, nice over 10 so I decided to keep going :).

She was nice over the log, step up and roll top at the sunken road, popped over the barrel into the water, onto the island over the barrels and back out and over a roll top. Next was the big open spread which she was fab over and then the trakehner and nice over the table and roll top. Trotted into the skinny table at 20 and she was fab and nicely over the last.

So after our little blip at fence 1 she was her fantastic self so really pleased with her and glad I decided to continue in preparation for next week.

It turned out they'd had to hold the course and repair the fence so apologies to those who had to wait! Still not entirely sure what happened as my Mum didn't see  but I think it was just one of those things and hopefully it won't happen again.

All in all a happy jumptoit and a perfectly fine Pingy Pony who doesn't have a mark on her - lunged her this afternoon to check she was ok and she's fine :).

Apple Tart or Ben and Jerrys if you get this far :).

Glad to hear she's ok and apart from that 1st fence it sounds like a fab day. Where is next week? Good luck and tell her to pick her feet up ;)

he's in the field ;)

looks like an over grown shetland already and behaving like one :D

will see what next year brings ,were not that brave but enjoying our selves so no hurry ;)
did have it wrote down at the biggining of the season but he was a bit fed up with flatwork before hutton so decided to back off and leave him alone ,was going to have a few days hunting but his field companion is not a well horsy this week so he's staying in field so as not to upset the other one.

missing it already can't wait till next year :(

Bless, I feel mean now as PP won't get much of a break before next year tbh and she's always fed up of flatwork :p!

If you are looking for one next year though Richmond is fab, has been my first one on all my horses :).

Well done! Glad you are both okay after your incident and none the worse for wear!
Was speaking to someone yesterday who was there and they said it was a lovely one - definitely one for the list next year :D
Pity the results aren't up yet on bdwp was wanting to see how it had ridden.

how is it possible that the smallest horse of the day can cause soooo much damage! Thats what i think the course repair team were thinking :D

glad your ok obviously the fences are too easy so shes just showing off - shes telling you she wants to be doing JRNs next year ;)

what day at Aske?

DHB - Thanks, results are finally up glad to see my Mum was on another planet when she thought I'd gone inside the time still, I got 21.2 time which has reassured me somewhat as to be inside I would have had to ride very very fast!

Langside - Haha, bless her littleness! Noooo, I'm definitely not up to Novice so she can wait till she finds a nice little jockey for that ;)! I'm out of Juniors too next year, which isn't good!

Sunday at Aske, will you be there? Though having said I was fine I now ache rather a lot today, I thought I was fine yesterday so got roped into riding the opinionated 3yo and TB and now it hurts! Good job I don't have too far to fall ;)!

And what makes it all better is that I wouldn't have been placed on my dressage so of all days to make a mess of the XC that was the one ;)! We would have been 20th !

OneInAMillion - Thanks :)

Langside - Bless he'll be fine, just be glad you didn't have fence one on Saturday :p! That said the fence judge didn't get out the car until we'd gone ! Hopefully she'll be back on form, we've been for some fitness training on the beach tonight :D! And we beat S :D!
