How tall are most jockeys? Cos ive heard AP McCoy is 5ft10, which i thoought was pretty tall for a jockey as i always thought they were something like 5ft3-6.

Also, and this could be considered a stupid question, what is the difference between a P2P and a Steeple Chase. What are they?

Flat jockeys are shorter as they have to be a lot lighter than jump jockeys.
Point to Point is amauter Steeple Chasing, basically the horses are not trained on a professional yard, have to qualify with hunt before they can race and the races are organised by hunts and clubs and are not held at racecourses (with a few exceptions). There is only a small amount of prize money for point to point and anyone over 16 can apply for a licence as long as they are subsciber to a hunt, and you pass the medical. :)
The horses are TB's but in the hunt members race, non TBs can race as long as they are qualified.
So basically non-professional steeple chasing!

I went to a race not long ago and was surprised how tall some of the jockeys were!

Just for fun: I was dating a guy a few years back, who's father worked at Towcester races and they were giving me a 'backstage tour' as it were...I was admiring something on the wall (a picture? Medal? I forget) I then turn around to see the Jockeys changing room :O
I've never seen so many naked men in my life!!! I quickly scuttled out the door, face bright red!
